"Class 10" SDHC cards - worth it?

>with Class 10 promising maximum speeds of 22MB/sec and Class 6 cards already offering top-end rates of 20MB/sec. ....

I've been hunting around for a good deal on a 4-8GB SDHC card. Mostly I wanted to make sure I got a class 6, since I've heard that card speed affects the time between shots on a digital camera.

Recently, I saw some Panasonic cards that said "class 10". However, if the specs above are to be believed, there is, at most, a measly 10% difference in speed. And that is the MAXIMUM speeds - not the minimum, or average. I believe I will get the maximum speeds about as much as I believe North Korea is truly a threat to the USA. <i.e. - not so much>

Anyhow, my thought is that "class 10" is fine and dandy, but in real life we probably won't notice any difference.

What are your thoughts?

Depends on your camera. It may not be able to write any faster.

10% is a decent increase when you are waiting for your camera so you can take the next picture. Especially if there is any kind of action going on. Tenth of seconds count when people are moving.

I have no idea if class 10 will actually decrease your wait time though.

What type of camera are you using this in?

Hmm, I am assuming this is your other alter ego. If you do a large amount of continuous shooting, you might see some benefit from the card. Otherwise, it makes no sense to spend more money than needed.
