How can I find the IP address of a PS3 game console in my house?
It's connected to a 5 port router via a Cat5e cable.
Router is a Netgear WGT624 v3.
I can login to the router, but I can't tell one IP from another. They all begin with 192.168.1.x
Thank you.

Easy way? Unplug all other devices but the router / ps3 / computer. Check the IPs. There should be 2, your computer and the PS3.

Any other, less obvious, way?
If I did it your way, does the PS3 have to turned on?
Thanks.

If you don't have it turned on it might not be listed in the router's DHCP client table, so yes, have it turned on.
The client table in my router lists the clients' MAC addresses as well. Find your PS3's MAC address and look it up that way.

The client table on my router also lists the device names. They're pretty obvious which are PCs by how they are named

You will have to power cycle the router after you unplug the other devices. Or you could unplug the other devices and ping each IP.

Are you trying to forward ports or share media? It would be better to set a static IP for the PS3.

Try an ip/network scanner on your computer. AngryIP does an ok job.
