WalMart has a back to school special on lenses. I was looking for sports goggles for my son. I link referenced above was nice but with his vision needs there was an additional 60 added to get it over 100. I got rec spec goggles for 70 total at WalMart. not the greatest but these will be put through the test with his sports and they have a 7 year warranty |

Can anyone help me with this? My prescription (handwritten in Doctor Scribble) looks like this to me: OD -.25 -1.00 x 165
OS -3.00 sm
When I bought glasses from Goggles4u a couple of years ago, I emailed them the prescription, and they interpreted it as
OD -.25 -1.00 x 165
OS -3.00
leaving the last two spots blank. The glasses were ok, but not perfect. I could see out of them, but trying to use my peripheral vision sometimes gave me headaches.
Now that I'm looking to order again, I've noticed the 'sm' for the first time. I imagine it means same – I just want to know if this prescription makes sense, or if there's an adjustment an optician would know about about, e.g. switching the 165 on the second line for something else more suited to the left eye?
OD -.25 -1.00 x 165
OS -3.00 -1.00 x 165 Thanks…

You have a right to not just your prescription, but also to answers to questions such as this one. BTW, if it's been a couple of years, you may want to consider getting a new prescription before ordering glasses. |

Thanks… That prescription makes sense to me. When ordering you won't need to enter anything for OD-ADD. Just make sure you have the PD measured correctly by someone. |

BTW, if it's been a couple of years, you may want to consider getting a new prescription before ordering glasses. Because the summer hours are hard to get around, and he's just ask me to come in again, which is your second point. I'm still wearing my glasses from my prescription (I got them three years ago, and when I wanted a backup pair he gave me the prescription - a year later) and they're perfect. I was in there a few months ago for a checkup and he told me there's been no change, I just didn't get a new piece of paper. |

OK… I just wanted to know if it's normal for the right and left eyes to be the same exact on cylinder and axis, or if a 165 on the right eye would somehow have to translate to a different number on the left. |

Unless you have astigmatism, then your eyes do have the exact same cylinder and axis (i.e. they're both spherical, without irregularities). Only with astigmatism will they differ. Very informative link. |

Can I get measurement info if I stealth shop at a B&M store (Lens Width, Height, Bridge)? Yikes." I'd say just measure with a straight ruler the width and length of your glasses a good as you can, then order an $8 set with no bifocal/tint/coating etc from zenni just to see how it fits! $13 is cheap to test them out! edit - OOPS! - this has already been suggested!! Take care though to measure best y ou can, then go for it! It's FUN to order from Zenni! (no, I don't work for them at all.. I just found it FUN to buy online from them! really!!! LOL) |

It is different for everyone and does not depend on the frame or glasses. |

I just received 2 pair of glasses from them this week. The quality and prescription are excellent. I would not hesitate to use them again (and I have used 39doller.com before but Zenni seems to have a better frame selection). |

I do think that Zenni offers a good service and have ordered from them several times. I would highly recommend them. You will get good quality glasses for cheap, delivered in about 2.5 weeks. However, I am now convinced that if you have a complicated prescription (astigatisms) it is HIGHLY unlikely you will get a perfect pair of glasses. Don't get me wrong, outside of one pair (out of 8 or so) I could see clearly, 20/20. However, if I close an eye and focus on something 100+ feet away, one of the lenses will surely be just a tad off. |

Well, I have just ordered an "emergency pair of eyeglasses" from Zenni for about $35-- so we'll see how it goes. I did look at one independent, consumer site called Glassy Eyes for information. That site compares and reviews online eyeglass stores like zenni. Thanks OP. |

I ve ordered in Zenni O3386 Plastic Full-Rim Frame. Im litle more nearsighted, with -10.50 and -10. With the 1.61 lenses and anti reflection coating, the result was very good. The lenses thickness are not much notticeable over the frame. I ordered with no polished edges cause i have other polished pair and dont like the brights of the lenses edges. Have to say im very happy with vision now. |

ordered one. Total $17.90 + $4.95 shipping. Arrived two weeks later. Does not look cheap. Very satisfied. After one week, the plastic coat on one arm has an opening. Called the customer service. They will send a new frame to me so that I take whatever part for a replacement by myself. Strong support. |
