There is the wealth of information available about how to find the best deal on airfare, hotel rooms, and more. Because some popular destinations are asked about much more frequently than others, several helpful members have created excellent travel guides for these popular locales. Links to these guides can be found below in the Quick Summary.

If you are looking for a location that is not included, why not start your own thread?

Most travelers have heard of Rick Steves and his travel books, videos and travel programs on PBS. He's now adding free audio walking tour guides that can be downloaded through his website or iTunes. So far he only has 4 for Paris locations. There's instructions and a map (PDF) you can print to follow along.

I'm going to be going to Ireland shortly and there're podcasts for Dublin walks too.

Lots of free tour podcasts out there besides Rick Steves:

1. http://www.podguides.net/downloads/downloads.html -- lots of destination choices, but quality may be hit/miss because these are tours recorded by users and uploaded to the site.

2. http://www.budgettravelonline.com/ has some free podcasts for download, including audio tours for Las Vegas and Quebec City.

Some good pay-per-download sites: http://www.ijourneys.com/, http://www.soundwalk.com/, http://www.audisseyguides.com/.

Google "fodors [cityname]", you'll get at least some basic info on a bunch of cities.

There are some pretty decent articles, tips, budget travel info and newsfeeds on SE Asian destinations (Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, etc) at This Site - apparently geared more to Thailand, but I found some of the articles pretty good.

Regards,

Kevin

I know Travelistic has videos from BCPictures, CityGuide, and Focus, all of which are short video guides to different places.

Another one is Travel & Leisure, which I think always has good links.

Outside of this, my favorite guide books are Lonely Planet and Rough Guides.

Hope this helps!

If you're interested in the Bahamas this site is amazing: http://www.bahamavention.com/bahamavention/
It's really funny, you can check out the Bahamavention commercials - they've posted them on there. Great if you're board at work and need a break, I just got back to work after a break for the holidays and am already in need...
