I just booked tickets for September on Airtran. I was wondering what they would do if the fare went down (I am signed up with YAPTA for email alerts for my flights). I emailed and this is the info they sent me regarding fare price reductions:

Should you find a fare offered at www.airtran.com, which is lower than the fare you originally purchased at www.airtran.com, AirTran Airways will honor a fare adjustment in the form of an airline credit. AirTran Airways does not match fares offered by other airlines, or by other travel websites.

Please be advised, all fares and schedules are subject to change without notice. Our special fares are available for a limited number of seats and are very popular with our customers.

Once your fare adjustment has been processed, the remaining funds will be placed into a credit file with AirTran Airways. Your credit will be valid for one year from the original date of booking. Your credit will be transferable, and may be applied towards travel to any AirTran Airways destination. Your new travel will not have to be completed by the expiration date of your credit file, only booked.

If you would like to request a fare adjustment, please contact our Reservations desk at 1-800-247-8726.

Hope this helps someone get some money back!

Thanks, hope this works! I booked 5 flights at $79 each way a few days ago and many of them just dropped to $59.

Edit: WORKS, but they charge a $10 processing fee? Oh well, I got $10 per flight back.

An update that kinda has to do with this...

We were booked on a flight in September due to arrive at MCO at 1PM NONSTOP from Indy. I have been watching prices weekly and noticed my outbound flight was gone! I have had trouble getting emails at YAHOO (they go to SPAM --that email was changed with Airtran). I checked my reservation and it showed my nonstop flight had changed to one with a layover in Atlanta arriving at 5PM. I was not a happy person, but called. The girl was wonderful..put us on the earlier nonstop arriving at MCO at 10AM! More Disney time that day for us...and not an extra cost. I had originally wanted this flight but it was $200 more. I am not posting this to say this is a way to save and switch. Just that Airtran is willing to work with customers when there is a change in flight times that may cause problems for the passengers.

They just did the same thing to me. Kinda BS but whatever...I hate airlines, they always find ways to d*ck you around.
