not good as boltbus (they have free wi-fi & power outlets), but worth to try.

linky dinky...

The first ticket is $1 for each bus, then it is $5 for each additional. There is no transaction fee even though it shows it as $0.50

I will give some feedback when we try them next week.

This almost sounds a little too good to be true...

<sarcasm>i thought that too until i saw the departure was in chinatown, then i realize i'm over paying for $1..</sarcasm>

this is pretty cheap. maybe they will try to sell u something. the best deal still is the mohegan sun: $12 bus ride, get $45 casino food and gambling credit.

I havent been on this one but I have been to one near it (in my virginia beach location) its probably the same company under a new name probably, they drop you off at the same spot. the usual price was 35 dollars or 50 round trip, something like that anyway. Ive heard lots of great things from friends.

thanks for the tip, ill be checking this out myself to check out NYC!!

Doubt I would trust this site!

Site looks scary, but I am in Norfolk, VA so this has got my attention. Anyone have experience with this company? I am dying to try this if it is legit.

Doesn't seem legit to me... I've been using the "Chinatown" buses for years that run between Washington DC chinatown and NYC chinatown. They are $35 round trip and are an amazing deal. I really don't see how they can do it for this price considering Gas + Tolls to/from new york would probably kill their entire profit, let alone the money they need to kick to the drivers.

same way airlines sell seats for $1...only some seats are $1..if you buy a ticket for tomorrow...it should be much more expensive. and Baltimore to Philly is $30 r/t...it's cheaper for me to just drive it.

i've also taken the chinatown bus several times. i would agree that $35 is already a great price, but i believe the $1 price is to steal away customers from the other companies. i haven't looked at the site myself, but my friend tells me that it's difficult to find the $1 seats.

boltbus seems like the way to go. Looks like max from DC to NY is $40RT. Def worth it for the power outlets and wi-fi.

i'm such a freakin' sucker for a well-designed visally appealing website...i too am therefore liking boltbus. one kink i did notice, however, is that they don't have any "late" buses on fridays?! i have a REAL job and there's no way i can be at the stop in time for a 5:30 departure...[**sigh**]...what a bummer. hopefully they can add a 6:30 or a 7pm bus ride soon.

various by time... but HAWT

It sounds possible to me. There is very aggressive competition between these Chinatown companies.

Aggressive as in setting each other's buses on fire and other such things.

Thank you so much. My hubby is happy he'll be able to visit his sick friend.

Thanks for posting Mcokol! I hadn't heard of the Bolt Bus and it looks good. They are starting a new route from NYC to DC and I found a few $1.00 rates (only 2 left now most sold out) for 3/27/2008 when the route starts.

I can't wait to hear about your experience with BusZoo since I will be going to NYC from DC next week.

Does anyone know of a bus that runs from Boston to NYC? I really don't wan't to use the Funeg Wah Express. They have a really bad accident history.

I can take the Amtrak bus from Concord NH to Boston MA for $14.00 but to take Amtrak from Boston MA to NYC is $120 one way. Is there another bus that runs the same route?

THanks!
