In my opinion, Megabus was great. I guess ridership was low and gas prices are high, so they decided to discontinue service on the west coast. But there is an alternative. The California Shuttle Bus offers service from San Francisco to LA for comparable rates, even offering $5 seats if you're lucky enough to find one. I haven't tried them yet, but I thought I'd share the info.

You can take the Chinatown Shuttle from LA to Vegas for around $25 or so.

I've beent trying to get a cheap trip with them for a while but the lowest i got so far is about $30.00
The bus sounds like it's comfortable from other reviews but there's not enough info on it for me to go by.
I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I'm still trying to find an alternative. Even some sort of long distance rideshare.
I thought megabus would at least keep the vegas to LA route going. That was always filled up when I rode.
I wish they'd have worked something out. I enjoyed the service. If it had helped I'd have been fine with $10.00 fare instead of $1.00
I don't think many people on the West Coast took it seriously, so it flopped.
