sure. ordinary vehicle groups don't require pre-payment; if you do show up, they scramble a suitable vehicle. that's also how u often get a free upgrade

Ok, I went ahead and booked a reservation for the Avis deal as well...($211 before the $35 coupon taken off at counter) so should be about $176 if all goes well.

I was reading in the Avis thread that someone posted the AWD (Avis Worldwide Discount) code that is being used is for the FBI???

If true, I will cancel...I want to be legit!

Thanks,
Michael

there is more danger in what you read than in what you do

Priceline is the way to book car rentals. You can usually save close to half off what the sites say the amount is.

Lets see Priceline example.

In my practice, you suddenly see fees that add up to out-of-pocket being higher than if you haven't "named own price"

Just wanted to post back and thank everyone for their assistance. I was able to get the rental for 6 days for $170 (midsize SUV / Ford Flex).

Thanks again,
Michael

it would be great to see the breakdown, codes, etc

watch out for this:

I'm traveling to same destination with a similar time frame and found Costco to have the best prices. They were a tad lower a week ago, I expect they will drop again.

As you requested...please see the attached screen shot

FYI, the addt'l code brought it down to a total of $170 when we returned the car...for some reason the code does not process until after returning. Anyway......hope this helps!

beautiful! what code was that?

It's listed in the original screenshot that I attached: MUWA130

that's a coupon. And you used no AWD code?

Yes, I used that link that was posted on here in another thread for the $159 mid-size SUV promotion and then that coupon code.

btw, what was the difference between 6-day and 7-day?

Not sure.

If you didn't give them any of your credit cards, then you shouldn't worry about your money, but if I were you, I would call and cancel them myself so my reputation doesn't go down if they have a system that records names.

is there any credence to this extrapolation?
