SinglePapa said: Avis's seems better; everyone applies coupons of $30-35, fine print notwithstanding my Avis deal was Standard SUV Chevrolet Equinox or similar, $259.67 USD for a week - $35 coupon (if they apply it) = $224.67 budget deal was ford edge for $247.91 for a week - $25 coupon (if they apply it) = $222.91 so they are about the same. think i might light the edge better than the Equinox, but still not sure. they both have the same sunpass rates for fla. i was really wanted a convertible so i have these as a backup plan and will see what i can find for last minute deals. i wonder if i called a few days ahead, if they would switch me to something else since the standard rate for these suv's are higher are about the same as a premium or standard convertible. also been looking at sixt, they are only in fla, but have more upscale cars like bmw or mb, just their reviews are either 10's or 0's with no middle ground.

Great posts my friend! The only thing, it seems, you're taking "car group" too literally. I don't know Budget, but when Avis group indicates Equinox - you in fact may be getting any SUV but Chev Equinox, depending on location/day

Holy crap. This is a great deal. Reserved an SUV at LAX for $139.00/week ($184 total w/ taxes and fees). Compared with $400-500 anywhere else.
I'm assuming you can't, but does anyone know if there's a way to combine this with the USAA BCD? I'm 24 until next month, and as a USAA member, was planning on using that to waive the underage fee, but the prices still aren't great.
For a week out of Seattle, intermediate SUV, I'm getting: With USAA Code: $584.30 With Offer: $242.15 (plus $27/day fee = $431.15 - still better, but not great)
Similar scenario with the Avis deal: With USAA Code: $553.27 With Offer: $268.19 (plus $27/day fee = $457.19)
I just returned my Budget Dodge Avenger week rental from Dallas Love Field for $139.34 TOTAL, including all taxes and high airport fee, + got 350 airline miles + 1YR Free Budget Travel magazine + CB
Note: I wanted to return in 97 hours, but agreement stated minimum rental of 99 hours, and their phone CSR ran that scenario and found the $25 coupon code would have been removed. So, I parked it for a couple more days then returned it.
