You can get a 60 day free trial of Priority Traveller, which includes a subscription to Priority Pass. http://www.prioritytraveller.com/Special-Offers/Membership-Optio...

Priority pass allows you into airport lounges for $27 (15 pounds) per person. If you were going to stop in for an hour, this isnt worth it. If you were going to shower and use a nap room for a couple of hours, its a deal.

I'm in the market for better options right now.

Thanks, ya right now I would not use it, but due to some up coming changes with work I may be spending extra time around airports. How do you guys like the lounges? How are the food options?

Have you ever seen airline employees use them, such as pilots or flight attendants when done with duty?

If you are going to be travelling for work, and depending upon whom you will flying, an AMEX Plat may be worth it. I fly Delta a lot, so it more than pays for itself with the free lounge access and $200 credit.

I get free access to the Delta lounge with the Delta reserve card (when flying delta)
I cannot see the value
Some of the international ones (and LAX) have showers, and that is nice after a long run to NRT, but I cannot see paying $27 for it.
I have never seen one with a nap room or quiet enough to nap in.
The food is OK but not very filling. I still find myself going to McDonalds or Pizza
Make friends with someone on your flight and ask them to let you in as their guest to check them out.
Unless you are a heavy drinker I cannot see it being worth the money to get a coke and a bagel and their slow wifi.
I sit too long on a plane so I enjoy exploring a new airport, and I am willing to bet that you can find a quieter spot to work than the lounge, if you look for it.

Oh and I have never seen a FA or Pilot in there.

all hubs have crew areas, but they do not have showers, food, wifi, and can often be full. I would assume that if they go in to a lounge they would change first. Just curious about it, for leisure travel, or if I end up getting transferred to an airport other than I live.

Appreciate it guys.

Nope. Just show the pass.

I get my lounge access through my AMEX Platinum, but when it comes down to it, I find that the lounges really aren't that big a deal for me.

AMEX platinum gets u into us airways, delta and aa lounges. For other/international lounges AMEX plat also gives priority pass....
Lounges itself are ok....gone are the days of hot food....pretzels/cookies/chips and soda/cofee is what we get....
Why need them? Eg..if you need to be in a telecon and are travelling...u have no other option but a lounge....
Also u will feel more relaxed at the end of the day.

Apply the AMEX plat with their bonus offer - their bonus rewards points and the 200 dollar airline incidentals should cover the 450 dollar annual fee.

For more details on the lounges themselves head over to the flyertalk forums...

Thanks, do you know what an airline lounge normally charges yearly?

Varies by Airline, status, and other factors.

You need to check the individual websites or call.

American runs around $500 depending on status.

received the package, but doesn't have the priority pass, mad!!!!!

yes, but it said it's compliment and I signed up for the ~359 a year plan... I mean at least I should got a most basic priority pass card (free one visit ) from them to start off with...

bearbb7 said:   yes, but it said it's compliment and I signed up for the ~359 a year plan... I mean at least I should got a most basic priority pass card (free one visit ) from them to start off with...AMEX doesn't run Priority Pass, just like they don't run Hertz, Delta, Marriott, or any other company that offer perks with the Plat card. You have to apply for those items separately and you can't apply (and get the bonuses/deal) until you have the Plat card. As I said, just like the free upgrade to SPG Gold, you would have to apply at the SPG site to get the upgrade (or get an SPG account if you didn't have one.)

But what's the big deal?

Go online apply for the Priority Pass and you will get it in a couple of weeks. I don't remember, but you may get a temporary ID when you apply online.

O,not AMEX, I'm talking about priority traveller...

So what's the good of priority traveller by the way, any use?

bearbb7 said:   So what's the good of priority traveller by the way, any use?Since you signed up, why are you asking -- shouldn't you have checked that ahead of time?

The annual fee on an AMEX Platinum is close to that price (less if you consider the $200 in airline credit) and you get a lot more benefits (IMHO).

No airline permits crew or employees to use customer lounges.

Otherwise they would all buy memberships because of all the time they spend in airports. There are on-duty crew lounges which are more like breakrooms.

Who doesn't want to travel around the world without upsetting their budget? As soon as you start planning a vacation with your family and friends, a lot of expenses need to be looked at: hotel accommodation, to and fro transportation, sightseeing, tour guide's assistance and many other facilities.
