Hi,

I have planned my travel from Mumbai to Chicago through Gulf Air. As per their checked baggage policy for Economy class, in their website

"Two checked pieces, provided the total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) for both bags added together does not exceed 273 cm (107 inches)and the weight of each bag does not exceed 23 kg"

But, when I went into VIP/AT stores here in India, sales reps are showing me bags of sizes numbered 77/78 with total sum of dimensions coming around 153-160 cm per each bag. And, they claim these are the regular sizes that everyone prefers for International travel.

I will have to carry 2 check-in bags and have no issues with the weight allowed(23kg). My concern is how could I ensure it to 273 cms? I am a first time traveler. Please clarify me in this regard.

What did Gulf Air customer service tell you when you called them?

Buy smaller bags.
