Compare anything you get there with this "Hotel Search Engine": http://BestTravelCoupon.com

I used to bounce around to many travel sites. This site searches them all and posts the best hotel deals. I used to think Kayak.com was the best but they usually pull up the same rates as Expedia. BestTravelCoupon.com searches Expedia.com and many others. Then posts the lowest rates. It works.

They also post the Total Cost while the others (especially Priceline) make you click several pages before seeing all of the "Taxes & Fees" and the total cost of the room.

Here is a good example of a price comparison vs Kayak, Expedia, and Orbitz: http://besttravelcoupon.com/blog/orlando-hotel-deals-peabody-hot...
They came in at less than half the rate.

This past year I found 2 great Hotel Resources:

1. HotelsTonight.com - App for last second hotel deals. You have to book same day but you can save a ton.
2. BestTravelCoupon.com - Best site to search for hotel deals.

Thanks I will add them to my list

Yes. Definitely bookmark these 2 sites or get the apps. We used the HotelsTonight App for an extra night in NYC. VERY HAPPY with the hotel and price. Wish they were in more cities but it's a new app and growing. It's a free app so worth getting.

Against my strong objections, we had a change of plans for family reunion from Las Vegas to San Francisco.(Damn wine drinkers want to go to Sonoma). I'm going to check out these codes you posted for Claremont. However, we are going on weekend. Maybe this hotel is not the best location.

How is the financial district in SF? Is it dead on weekends like NYC?

Discount Rate Hotels are Fake or Real? I need a best and clarification on that?

rated:
Thanks for sharing this information about discount rate on hotels

rated:
I have moved BestTravelCoupon.com past HotelTonight.com for my #1 place for hotels deals.

Next weekend we are going to San Diego on Sat Feb 9. I checked HotelTonight for the Sofia Hotel. They were $165 for Saturday night. I called the hotel. They were also at $165. Expedia was $196. Then I went to BestTravelCoupon.com and found it for only $124.

This is the best place for discount hotels. One of the best things about the site is they show the TOTAL COST instantly. You do not have to click on the hotel and then click a few more pages to get to the TOTAL COST with the "Taxes and Fees". They show it all up front which makes it easier to shop.

On the other hand, Expedia shows a price of $172 first and then you have to click several pages to see the final price of $196. Priceline is the same way.

Kayak had a price listed of $120 for the same hotel. However, they have the "Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees" of $32 that push the price up to $152.

Right now, BestTravelCoupon.com is the best travel search engine out there. They show the total cost upfront and they have the lowest rates.

dfwrealtor...That is a good site. Limited search capabilities but good rates if you're staying on one of their hotels.

Not a lot of hotels listed but they have excellent rates on lower priced hotels when you choose the "Privileges" option(although you must agree to No Refund with this option). If you're staying at Comfort Inn this looks like the site for rates. It's a site worth bookmarking.

Here is the list of hotels they cover: http://www.choicehotels.com/en/about-choice/ourbrands

The main sites they search are: Comfort Inn, Clarion, EconoLodge, & Rodeway Inn.

Some websites that i've found really helpful:

HotelsCombined.com --> great because it searches pretty much all of the search engines out there.

takemyhotelroom.com or travtar.com --> I used takemyhotelroom.com to buy a hotel reservation from another traveler. Was nervous at first but there were no problems and got a really awesome deal. Haven't used Travtar.com but the design is better than takemyhotelroom

tripology.com --> basically, you input what you want out of a trip and travel agents reach out to you to help you plan. Planned my parents' anniversary trip (flight/hotel) through this and still in touch with the travel agent!

hipmunk.com --> since i travel a lot for work, location is really important in terms of booking a hotel. This is a good website because it shows hotels based on location and it's easy to filter by points too.

BestTravelCoupon.com uses the same search as HotelsCombined.com and then some. They added additional search tools to give you more options.

I used it yesterday to book a great deal in Redondo Beach Portofino(6/16-6/21): http://www.hotelportofino.com/

Rate on Hotel Site: $1339
Rate On Expedia.com: $1200
Rate on BestTravelCoupon.com: $710

BestTravelCoupon.com works like Kayak(although better) and it searches other travel sites for deals. It found a killer rate on a site HotelClub.com for this hotel. They had a special. If you stay 5 nights you get 50% off on this hotel. We were booking 5 nights so we qualified. Didn't even know about the deal until it was pulled up in the search results.

BTC is my #1 booking site. They have an app too on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TravelSearchEn...

downtown SF in general seems pretty lively on Fridays and Saturdays, from what I remember. more so than weekdays, for sure.

Imho lmtclub.com can be better than all of these sites. You need a membership to view their listings but there are usually free membership promo codes out there. Last one I saw was TRAVELTWEET. Bookings are refundable per the rules of the hotel. They don't list every hotel but the prices can be the best. We are currently booked at the Red Lion Anaheim thru lmtclub, $65 per night. besttravelcoupon was $86. Prior trip was 4 Seasons Las Vegas, lmtclub was $112, besttravelcoupon $186.

For cheap hotels the big 4 are lmtclub, besttravelcoupon, Hotwire hot rates and bidding on Priceline.

lmtclub? I've used it to check for rates before. The problems?

1. Very few hotel options on the site. For example, I searched for a hotel in Redondo Beach, CA. They had nothing in the city. Only one hotel was listed and the only other options they showed were some hotels in Long Beach which is about 15-20 miles away.
2. The rates do not include Taxes & Fees. Keep that in mind when comparing. BestTravelCoupon.com shows the total rate INCLUDING all taxes and fees. It's the only site that does this. Every other site, including imtclub, requires you to click 1-3 times to see the total cost.

The only hotel in Redondo Beach it showed was: Best Western Redondo Beach Galleria Inn

When you clicked to see the total cost it was $40 more than BestTravelCoupon.com. But the main problem with lmtclub.com was the limited selection of hotels. They simply do not have enough hotels in their search function. It seems they may be a decent place to check for lower end hotels but I think ChoiceHotels.com may have them beat on these types of rooms too.

Your best move is to start any hotel search at BestTravelCoupon.com. If I'm looking for an EconoLodge or Rodeway Inn type place I'll also check ChoiceHotels.

2. 4th night free for reservations of 4 nights

Haven't booked yet. Still have time & shopping for deals.

Living Social deals? Not always the best. My wife found this deal on Living Social: https://www.livingsocial.com/escapes/663588-historic-palm-spring...

At first glance, it says save 50% on the $275 rooms at Colony Palms Hotel(very nice place). This looks like a deal, right?

We need a Sunday night stay in the area in August. Before booking I check BestTravelCoupon.com for a rate comparison. This site finds a rate of only $87 on a travel booking site called Splendia.com.

I haven't used Splendia.com (or even heard of them) before but we are booking with them because the deal is so good. I've been to this hotel before. $87 is a steal.

Here is the hotel info. If you're going to Palm Springs this is an excellent place to stay: http://search.besttravelcoupon.com/Hotel/Colony_Palms_Hotel.htm

HotelTonight.com is an excellent option for discount hotels (but only use it for same day booking). I'm a fan of the app but I think they should allow you to book on their site too. I used it this past weekend (despite problems with my android) and got a nice same day hotel deal. (But be wary when booking multiple nights because there are better options).

Here are the 3 must have apps for booking. HotelTonight.com for same day booking on nicer hotels(good discounts on 4 star hotels). BestTravelCoupon.com for the largest inventory of hotel deals from budget to 5 star. ChoiceHotels.com for deals on budget hotels.

ChoiceHotels & BestTravelCoupon allow you to book on their sites. They also have free apps. HotelTonight is app-only.

Here are the links to Google Play apps below:

1. HotelTonight.com: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hoteltonight.a...
2. BestTravelCoupon.com: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.TravelSearchEn...
3. ChoiceHotels.com: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.choicehotels.a...

This is all you need to find the best deal for your needs (same day, budget, etc).

There's another prominent site but the mod is soo rude, I don't want to give them a plug.

Just to clarify the last comment I made... I was not implying that the folks at Fatwallet were rude.  Sorry if my comments suggested that.  I was referring to a different Priceline forum (not the ones mentioned above).  The moderator at that other site has quite a reputation. FW team, keep up the good work!
