I'm actually one of those people who reads the little card every once in a while and usually looks ahead during the safety demonstration (out of politeness for the attendants more than anything), and in recent years I've taken to counting the number of rows my seat is from the nearest exit, but I didn't know several of the tips in this article (including the one about especially protecting the hand that you write with, and the fact that the existence of a life jacket at every seat is not confirmed before every flight), so I thought I'd post this brief news article here in case anyone is interested in the topic:
