Anyone know if the MGM Grand hotels pricematch?
I'm going there 10/7-10/10 and planning to stay at NYNY. Expedia shows a avg price per night of $209 (holiday weekend, OUCH!), the MGM site shows a $253 avg rate. I even signed up for the players card and called their VIP line. No go. I'm very surprised that wouldn't want to at least match the price....
I guess I'm answering my own question, but I just wanted to check in with everyone's exeriences. |

Marriott does match Orbitz. Despite what the customer service ppl say on the phone or email. Just wanted to make sure of it. Hotel listed for 129$ and Orbitz had a special price of $114 so got it with the 25% discount for $86. 100-25 =$86 including the taxes.
Phone operators were all telling me that they would only match another Marriott sites and email they were non commital sending me the link to the page i allready sent. Great customer service !!!
Reminder for all check the various websites expedia,Orbitz etc before you book hotel on the main sites and NOT after to get any Possiable deals for these offers as most often cancellation fees apply making any savings meaningless. |

I hadn't read this forum before, but it works for Ramada. Got the free night, but they don't match the lower rate for the remaining stay. It worked out for me, since the difference was minor and my total stay was only 3 days. |

See the Premium Pound/Bonus Buck discussion in the Marriott forum at www.flyertalk.com. I have been able to use Bonus Bucks/Premium Pounds with "Look No Further Rates" and discounted rates. I never us phone reservations, only online reservations. it has been my experience that the phone agents don't have a clue! Just book the rate and present them at check in. Normally the front desk clerk will tell you to keep them until checkout. Make sure you know what the exchange rate for Premium Pounds are and the property is giving you a fair rate! |

From Hilton's Best Rate Guarantee
"Offer does not apply to the following hotels: U.S.--Atlantic City Hilton, Las Vegas Hilton, and Hilton Reno Resort & Casino; Puerto Rico-Caribe Hilton and the Hilton Ponce & Casino."
(edit: nm, it is listed under Caesars, not Hilton) |

So if one were trying to get Best Rate Guarantee for a hotel in Vegas, what would be the best sources, for the cheapest rates, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc? any other ones out there that get low rates? Thanks for all the help. |

It worked for me today! I got a hotel deal for $325 CDN for a room in Niagara Falls this summer. Yes, it's a ton of money but an exceptional deal for the area.
Thank you for submitting a claim regarding Our Best Rates Guaranteed. We reviewed your reservation for the Embassy Suites – Niagara Falls location, as well as, the rate available on www.niagarahoteldeals.com. We were able to confirm that a lower rate was being offered on the website and have lowered the rate on your reservation to match the 325.00 CAD rate.
In addition, upon check out, an American Express Gift Cheque will be sent via FedEx to: |

Well, this is the second time it worked for me at ChoiceHotels.com. I did it about a year ago and the same thing today. I booked there standard rate $95.99 I checked Expedia and got a $79 rate there. I then filled out the claim form on the website, and they matched the $79, then took another 10% off. So I ended up with a 2 bed Suite for 71.10.
I definitely think ChoiceHotels stands behind there gaurantee. BTW this was a Comfort Suites.
Thanks OP. |

Expedia Orbitz etc are now offering best rate guarantees, and since the hotel direct website is often cheaper, this may be an easy way to exploit them.
For example, expedia is giving a $50 coupon if you find a lower price. Simply Orbitz and the hotels own website, chances are youll find a better price |

Just wanted to share an experience because I had never done the Best Rate guarantee. I just booked 3 nights at Bally's [Thursday - Sunday] last night and the quote from Bally's was like $433 tax inclusive. On TravelAxe I saw WorldRes.com had the same room reservation for like $401 with tax. I faxed the claim form last night and they responded this morning with the new rate of 25% off the price guarantee the room was a little over $300. Even searching for an hour or more for the best price on any room or Vegas special [Hotwire, Priceline, Orbitz, etc.], this turned out to be the best value. |

I'm trying it with Ballys right now for Feb 28 - March 3. Got a rate of $267 + tax when I reserved thru Ballys and found it on www.onetravel.com for $227.55 + tax. Just faxed my claim form. Am hoping they honor it, which would bring the rate down to $170.66 or $56.89/night. That would be a sweet deal. WorldRes.com had a lower price on those days for Paris - with the discount it would have worked out to about $75/night - which is a terrific rate for Paris. But I decided that it wasn't worth $20 more per night than Ballys and went with that one. |

make sure you ask them to change it in the reservation system. i had to do that. if i didn't, then the older price would be on the reservation system and i would have to show them the email. regardless you are suppose to show them the email at check in anywyas. |
