If you guys keep calling the MGM, you will ruin it for all of us. They will let you check in, there is now way at the time of check in, for them to verify if they sent you the promo or not. So stop worrying, they already charged my card, and have to let you check in. PLEASE STOP CALLING THE HOTEL, YOU ARE F***ING THIS FOR ALL OF US.

I agree with 95teg. Leave it alone. Just be prepared and bring your confirmation information with you as support. Everything should be just fine.

Leave well enough alone! Stop calling MGM!

They don't HAVE to do anything. This is bad advice. I'm sure if you actually had the promo that went out in the mail there is a whole section of disclaimers that will cover them not having to give this rate to anyone who didn't directly receive the promo. All they would have to do is call casino marketing and look you up and they will know wether or not you got the promo in the mail legitimately. I'd make other arrangements instead of being dissapointed and roomless when you arrive.

So what if they sent it to me by accident, I booked the trip, arrived, they already charged my card, do you think they will turn people away? It was their error, that they sent out the email to the wrong people, so they need to do something.

The results will be the same as what happens when a website has a price error or mistakenly honors a coupon it shouldn't have. They'll apologize, tell you that you weren't eligible for the promotion, and offer you some sort of small discount. When you complain they'll refer to one of the disclaimers that absolves them from responsibility and you'll be left with the option of paying regular price or finding another hotel. If you really want to stay at the MGM(there are far better hotels) your best bet is to call and play stupid and when they tell you that you aren't eligible for that promo see if they will work some other kind of discount. It's been proven time and time again that a confirmation e-mail and a charge on your CC doesn't mean you will get the deal you think you are getting...which sucks, and shouldn't be allowed, but nevertheless is how it usually works. Look in the Hot Deals forum and see how many price mistakes/incorrect coupon usage incidents never come through. FOrget MGM and book Ballys for cheaper and have a better location anyway.

I agree with JBannanas. There are a ton of disclaimers that protect the vendors. There is a reason why they have disclaimers. 95TEG, did you actually receive the email promo? Most of the people here trying to make the reservation did not get the promo email and instead trying to take advantage of someone posting the code. They are trying to take advantage of an offer that wasn't even offered to them and now people want to complain about that. If people are able to get this promo to work, great for them.

Listen, I posted about my call because I was trying to HELP all of you so you dont get a surprise at check-in. Here is the disclaimer from the e-mail promos:

"All prices are subject to tax and/or handling fee and based on double occupancy on a per-stay basis. This promotion is non-transferable, subject to availability, may not be combined with any other MGM Grand promotion and is not available to groups or persons attending meetings or conventions or over certain blacked-out dates. MGM Grand reserves the right to cancel or modify this promotion at its discretion and without prior notice. Copyright 2005 MGM Mirage."

Re-read the THIS PROMOTION IS NON-TRANSFERABLE part again. There you go, that is it. There is a code around for that is sent to I guess higher rollers that is for comped rooms. Yea lets all go book that and all get free rooms and they must honor it....

When checking in with the players club card they pull up your available credits and promotions. Go log in to your players club account and see your listed promotions. If you used a code that was not mailed to you based on your past play, it won't be showing up on their screens either. Enjoy your $59-$79 listed rate for now but don't be surprised when it jumps to the $259+ rack rate at check in.

This ain't a Staples deal where they honor thier price mistakes or cancel them by people "calling in". It's a promotion specific to your past play. It wasn't meant to be used except for the intended recipient and their disclaimer covers their end. Enjoy!

I just booked two nights at $79/night at Treasure Island with 'promotions - stimulations'
Tower Deluxe Upgrade
$10 Freeplay
Complimentary Welcome Cocktail

It's much cheaper than what I got from princline, hotels and the celebration package. Not sure whether there were any differences.

I just booked 5 nights at the MGM using a new players club account I opened online and used the SLM029 code. The lady said there is nothing here that asks for club credit verification. The only restriction is you can't book more than one room.

I am going July 17..

if anyone has problems checking in, can you please post here.

Thanks
Farouk

thumbs up for Tropicana using the passcode online. I booked for 1 night (Thurs 8/4) at a rate of $49. this is about $22 cheaper than Vegas.com guaranteed rate. I put in for a $10 room upgrade to the std. tower so I could have an actual view of the strip, which Vegas.com had for $85, so this was 30% less. confirmation:

anyone here used the Second MGM Grand promotion code? The one that doesn't require the players card? Is that offer legit?

Its legit I received it through the email and I havent been to Vegas in years. BTW all offers are legit, the only one with stipulations is the first MGM promotion in which you need to have the card and some say you need to have earned it, althought that is unconfirmed at this point.

I had no problems using this promo last weekend. Never even asked for the card

Up to 20% off Rio Suites through 10/31/05 at Southwest.com
Use link or rate code SWEST

linky

I found rooms as low as $90...which seems pretty decent. they offer the same deal at Harrah's using the same rate code, and other slightly discounted rates if you click onto their hotel specials page.

BTW its "The"Knife

I don't remember, there was only one SLM code on the first post when I made my reservation.

It looks like MGM Grand is taking the promo for the Players Club Members.

TheKnife, were you a Players Club member already or did you just sign up?

Just stay at the dadgum Golden Nugget (my fave) and get rooms as nice as some of the best on the strip for half the price or go to the Orleans and get a great room for a great rate and forget all this hassle over the MGM.

Just my two cents.
