Today I reserved a Budget rental car through the USAA website. The discount I received was incredible. I had tried several other discount codes (AA, AAA, Costco, Wal-Mart, etc.) and the cheapest price I found was $264 for a Full-sized car for 10 days (not a bad price). When I used the USAA site, the price quoted was $176 plus I could upgrade to a PREMIUM CAR for free (Premium Cars were listed for over $600 with other codes).

Please give me a GREEN if this works out for you.

Is this for people with bow and arrows?

Nice post OP.

Is there a code for usaa or just linking through the site?

yeah more details, I logged in at USAA.com but dont see a link

edit: found it...just search for budget rental on the USAA homepage once you are logged in

20% off, 1 free weekend day, and a free upgrade!!! NICE DEAL!

Just link through the site. Log on to USAA and click on "Shopping & Discounts". After that you will see the Budget link.

How about some green clicks for this deal?

I can Arch my back... does that mean I am in the club?

RED 4 U! Because you asked TWICE already.

I guess I can't get in on the deal if I was never in the armed forces. Is there any way I can get in on this deal?

Nice find. Give up the begging though, chicks find it unappealing.

Direct links, codes, etc.?

Thank you. Too bad their code doesnt help with my one-way w/i CA. I will try the $15 coupon off a weekly at the counter, however.

I just got off the phone with USAA and they have removed the ability for non "P&C" members to use the shopping & discounts section (you have to be eligible for their insurance products in order to use their car rental discounts now).

This is a HUGE loss for us in my book.

Please explain. I am a USAA member, I do not carry their insurance, just have a Visa and I just logged on to their website and I still have access to the car rental links. I also get the insurance discounts by mail???

Using the link, I was able to reserve a car at a great price. Will there be a problem when I try to pick up the car if I am not a USAA member?

Thanks!

GINORMOUS GREEN to you OP! I reserved a car at BWI from 5/17-5/20. Costco's lowest price through their options was Alamo at about $185. Budget with the USAA code got me a midsize vehicle for $83. This deal saved me a hundred dollars. And yes, I am a USAA member.

I think this really depends on location. For Seattle in August, USAA is $80 more expensive than the Costco link to Hertz. (On the exact same car of course).

I can't seem to find anything from Budget when looking to pick up from SFO. I usually use www.Entertainment.com since I bought the book and my membership nets me great deals from National.

Thanks OP! This is great service from USAA. They show 3 different carriers (Avis, budget, and Hertz). I have a $25 mail in rebate voucher for AVIS so I looked into them. Avis offers up to 25% off, free 3rd weekend day on intermediate cars or higher, free upgrade, and $20 off weekly rental. Not sure if all can be combined, and some those deals say discount applied at counter when you present the printed coupon.

For comparison to avis.com rates, I had 3.5 day rental @ $132 knocked down to $115 and at checkout I should get a free day (~$25 back) = $90 and maybe even a free upgrade if they stack. Plus my $25 MIR gets it down to $65. 3.5 days = Fri@11PM-Mon@5PM.

How do you get all three?

20% off, 1 free weekend day, and a free upgrade!!!

Awesome post, OP -- heading to Vegas in a few weeks on combined TDY and leisure trip so the weekly rate is awesome with USAA. Big green for you!

I'm on Maui right now and I received a full size sedan rented on Memorial Day weekend for $27/day plus tax. Used the link from USAA as I'm in the military. Awesome rate and budget rocks.

Does budget ask you for the USAA card? Or are they so happy that you are renting from them, they don't bother.

yes,any id required..leaving soon for my trip, need to know ifIshould make a backup reservation!thanks

can anyone confirm is id is required? got a sweet rate in NYC this weekend at about 50% off.
