I called Alanita travels for a fare JFK-BOM-JFK. They gave me an excellent fare, lower than all the other travel agencies. However when I was about to give them my CC number they told me that they would charge me for an amount more than they had quoted and then send me a personal check within 21 days of booking. I did not go ahead with them. Do not think this was in any way legitimate. Finally booked on M&D Travels on this list. |

Finally booked on M&D Travels on this list. I bought tickets from them last year and there was no problem regarding the refund check. They sent it 2 weeks after purchase of tickets. Tickets were charged at full fare by the Airline on credit card. This is standard practice in case of Airlines which accept Credit Cards for discounted tickets. Previously, a few years ago with another travel agent for Aeroflot, I went through same process. The full fare was charged by Aeroflot, and then later the travel agent sent a refund check for the difference though I had to follow up with him in this case. You should just have asked Alanita to send an email to confirm the amount of refund check before sending the credit card info. |

I have been looking everywhere and have not been able to find any cheaper tickets then $1300 total (tax included), and that to for Air India (looking for 2 adult tix). This is when I performed a search for ATL-DEL for Dec.5 to Dec.25. However, my dates are flexible as my departure can be between Dec.5-12 and return Dec.23-26 (whatever is the cheapest in between these will be perfect). I would really appreciate if you could take a look at the request posted above and provide a response if I would be able to find anything better than this - I would imagine that the high peak season would only kick in after the 10th; but why are prices so high, or is it that I haven't traveled in a long time? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rgds, sp1viper Will be calling Mudra Travels tomorrow as it is great to see Mr PatelFromIndia taking the time out to try and answer everyone's concern/question. Quite sure that the quality of service will be excellent. PS: May call Alanita travels, but have to agree the return check thing sounds a bit fishy. |

I did not get a straight answer for this wherever I posted - This is not directly related but I am making my travel plans based on this. Is there any problems if you travel outside US within 9 months (with GC). I heard some port of entry agents do object to that? I will appreciate if anyone can answer... |

Regarding refund check -- Every travel agent dose the same. I booked 4 tkts december and got refund check. Those who don't offering refund check are taking airline commission fully to them and keeping you high and dry! AA sale === US - DEL - US Travel dates -- Sep 1 to Sep 19 Return can be up to Dec 19 Most of east cost cities are at 910 inlcuding tax. |

Inair, I am not a travel agent but my take is that, that published IATA fare is almost always twice the fare you usually pay. |

IATA fare is normally the "full" fare. |

It is just like FatWallet. You pay the full price to Merchant. The Merchant gives the commission to FatWallet which in turn kicks back part of it to you. At FatWallet, Cash Back is trackable and there is a system that works but at Alanita there is no such system and they have a history of lying... read about them somewhere mid of this thread or google it. |

Did I say identical to FatWallet? As far as tracking goes, you can ask them to send you an email / fax first or record the call with the permission of agent. I changed by reservation date 3 times before buying tickets and prior to that the agent re-booked me twice on his own to hold my dates beyond 72 hours. |

I was trying to see how much was the fare for a child under the NetSaver deal (to Delhi) from American Airlines for the month of September. When I try to reserve seats it is charging me full adult fare for child as well. I called AA and they say they don't show a child fare for 'that market'. Anybody else ran into this situation? I like this deal but if they charge adult fare for child, that's a deal breaker. Can an airline choose not to offer child fare for a certain market? |
