WAIT. Let's give time to all airlines to come-up on the stage for a competition. You may have heard story of fighting cats (if you went to school in India)
Do Not Hurry, You have enough time.

Nice thread.
I have my parents coming here in June from India. Is it a peak time for travel from India to US? They have visa interview in mid May. Is it advisable to wait for the visa before booking ticket, but by then (May 15th) tickets may be very high premium for June 15th travel right? Any suggestions on how to handle the situation?
Also is it better to buy tickets in US for India to US travel?
Appreciate your insight... |

va1234, Answer to your question depends on multiple situation like (1) On what bases you are thinking that they are going to get visa 100% ? (2) Are they trying to get Visitor Visa or Immigration Visa ? If it's visitor visa then most of time you will get answer from Embassy on the same day (we all know how they treat) If it's immigration visa then fingers are crossed, I mean you never know for what reason they will hold visa even though all the documents are completed (If someone is not agree with me, I will tell more about the cases.)
If you don't have any special need for their travel then it's better that they buy tickets from India, there are some cases when people buy tickets from USA also, but as long as you can do it from India then do it from there.
If you need any further help, please PM me.
Thanks, |

They will come on visitor visa.
Thanks for your input, do you think June 15 travel will fall under peak season?
Will try from India if there is no advantage buying in US. |

Do you think June 15 travel will fall under peak season?
For all who is reading: Exact date for high peek season starts from June 14th for all the airline, and those who wanted to travel from June 15th to around June 22, they will have already move back their dates before June 14th. to save money, It means, It will be less chance to get seat from approx June 9th to June 13 when last date is June 13th in LOWER PRICE CLASS (which we generally call "V Class") |

June 14th is for US to India. Whomever is going from here in peak season they will come back in 3 months. I believe Schools are opening in US during first week of August. correct me if I am wrong. |

Planning a travel to India in Dec 2006 and returning Jan 2007. Will there be any price difference in opting to travel on the Christmas Day? As per my research the ticket is around $1350, from expedia (Malaysian Airlines from LAX to MAA) Is it a good price or should I wait? When can I buy the ticket? We'll be travelling with 1 1/2 year old child. Should I ask for the child seat or opt for Lap? The difference in price seems to be almost $400 with the seat?
Thanks a lot for your replies! |
