Patel bhai, I am looking for a good price on HYD to EWR route. Can you tell me when would be the best time to book - Now, August or September? Also can you advice on the airline - Air India or Jet? |

Update: Still not bought the tickets! MIL is ruining our plans, have to delay by a week! But I see Asiana has tix from LAX-ICH-DEL for 1020, and the best thing is that since their base fare is high, with only about 100 in taxes, buying two kids tickets helps push the cost of 4 tickets (2 adults, 2 kids)to about 3750, rather than above 4200 for most other fares. |

HYD to EWR, I will suggest to go with Air-India, compare to Jet Airways. Reason behind this is: with Air-India no airport change in Mumbai, on return customs in HYD and plus open reutrn ticket. Air-India customer service sucks but as long as you do not need to contact them, everything is ok. |

kmalviya said:Was wondering, what would be the good time to book tickets for december (3rd or 4th week). LAX to DEL December 3rd Week, you can wait (till you find moderate price), in other words, December 3rd Week belongs to high season (Dec 12 to Dec 24/25), so one or another way you are going to pay more price, then why not wait till you find moderate price ? For travel after December 25th, you can wait till Sept/Oct as medium travel season starts from 25th DEC onwards but there will be heavy rush/demand for DEC 25/26/27 |

Hello. Thanks for this great thread full of information. A medium sized group of people (me included, ~11 people) are exploring the possibility of a mission trip to Chennai, India around July 12/13 2010 to July 26 2010 from Atlanta, GA. I've been trying to research prices, but most sites don't seem to go that far in advance. I tried looking at this coming July's prices, but because it's so close, I think the prices are inflated. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to deal with a large group and how to buy tickets? Should I find a travel agent? Or should I just try searching around travel website? When is the best time to buy? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks! |

When you are saying "Group Travel", please be understood that, Group travel is where 15-20 people are travelling on exactly same date, same flight with same schedule, not like 4 goes early and 6 goes one day late and 5 starts from other airport and 3 returns on different date. Airlines does not consider this as a "Group Booking", so if you really need to take benefit of "Group Travel" then you will have to keep everyone united in team. And if that's the case for Group Travel then it will be better to consult agent as sometime 15-20 seats not available together at a time to pick, where agent can do it easily. |

Hi Patel, My mother-in-law has a return flight scheduled on Aug2 on British Airways. As her I-94 is valid till Aug14, we want to postpone her trip to Aug11 to Aug13. Do you have any idea how its going to happen with British Airways.? Do they charge extra money for the change as well do they charge the fare difference? Our india agent says he can't do it and he is asking us to do it? Thanks |

Hi Patel bhai, We are planning to visit India from 2nd week of dec to 1st week of Jan (preferbly 11/Dec - 3/Jan). I know it's peak season and we want to stopover in Dubai for 3 days which makes Emirates the obvious choice. Do you think we should start shopping now or wait for a little while. The price is around $2k now. Thanks a lot for your contribution to the forum. |

Do not forget to keep camera in handbag, you will need to take pictures of famous towers during 7 hours layover in Kualalumpur. |

In that case, you can call British Airways customer service in USA and they can change return date here in USA. For India to USA tickets, generally change penalty is minor like between $50 to $100. Also, for USA to India during August 11 to 14, not going to be much rush, so I assume, seats going to be available and there will not be fare difference. Pl. call Ba customer service in USA at 800-247-9297 asap. |

Because Emirates Airlines do not tend to reduce ticket price too early, they reduces price very late, and you are travelling on the date where waiting too long is going to cost more also because of January first week return date. Do you think, Dubai stopover is necessary this time? Because of having "Dubai" in your itinerary, it's going to force you to go with Emirates, unless you find (1) Atlanta to Dubai in Delta and Dubai to India in either Air-India, Emirates, King Fisher or in Jet Airways in good price (2) Or if you find Sri Lankan Airlines code sharing flight in cheap price which goes via Dubai. but now a days, Sri Lankan Airlines is also charging more prices. Oh ! boy...can not wait, can not buy condition here...If I am in place of you then either I will drop Dubai Stopover plan this time and will go with other cheaper airlines OR, I will wait till price go down and will stick to good travel agent, who has better access on Emirates Seats. |

Delta discontinuing U.S. to Mumbai flights Delta Air Lines is discontinuing its flights from the United States to Mumbai (ATL > BOM non-stop) amid weak demand. Atlanta-based Delta had previously said it would shift the Mumbai flights from Atlanta to New York, but now says it will suspend the U.S.-Mumbai service altogether. The Atlanta-Mumbai flights will end Oct. 21. Delta said it will re-accommodate customers onto its flights from Amsterdam to Mumbai or via Paris on its partner, Air France. |
