$3000 is referring to maximum loss damage you need to pay to Avis in case of accident, even if you totalled the car! Once you got into an accident, generally car agencies will charge you the cost of fixing car and revenue they lossed during fixing of the car. However with AWD code C031529, you will need to pay maximum $3000. So if you drive out a new Lincoln Town Car($50,000 car), and totalled right the way, go back in and ask for another one. You will be asked to pay $3000 later on for car, no more issues afterward.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but are we sure that this code waives the under-25 surcharge? (Without the waived surcharge, using the code is more expensive than the rate I found on Kayak.com.)

Tried the AWD code as well. I was probably too eager, but after returning from my trip, I ended up paying the freaking underage fee for 2 days. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Here is a good Avis code I have used int he past. It saved $66.00 off a weekly rental in las vegas on a intermediate SUV (was $255) without the code, and $189 with the code. On other class cars, the savings varied usually always at least $10 cheaper on the week than without any code.

On a single day premimum car went from $83.99 to $60 a 27% savings. Savings on a compact were not as big, but went from $62 to $49
