I am trying to rent a minivan from June 6th -9th (Fri, 5 pm to Mon, 5pm) in Peabody, MA. I looked at Orbitz, Priceline. The cheapest base rate I could find was at Avis w/o any coupons. When I use Avis code from Flyertalk G417900, I get a rate of $185 including taxes for a minivan for this period. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions if this price can be improved (any coupons/deals at other car rentals). Thanks |

Excellent post. I am curious just how "technical" Avis and any of the other rental companies are about renting at the "weekly" rate but returning earlier-even less than the min. 5 days that they list in the details. Example, weekly rate could be $150 for 5-7 days whereas a Tue-Fri rate can total $200 or more(Non week or weekend). Thanks for your time and sharing your experiences. |

I am just wondering if it is okay to use Avis awd codes in a rental booking, even though I am not a member of the organization for which the awd code was meant for. I mean do they really ask for proof of membership during the rental car pickup? |

Guys, Looking to rent a car from SFO on 6/15 and return it to LAS on 6/20. The estimates I see is about $520! My corporate rate through my company is not offering unlimited miles for some strange reason. I am also under 25 |

Hey guys maybe you can help me make a decision. I'm flying out to California for a 10-day vacation in July. I plan on doing around 1500 miles while I'm out there. I can get a Prius through my Entertainment book link for $610 including all taxes (10-days) I can use AWD A074800 (found on flyertalk.com) and get a Cobalt for $390 including all taxes (10-days) I've calculated that the Cobalt is gonna cost me about $50 extra in gas, based on both cars' mpg. So my question is: is there much risk that I will get grilled or have to show an ID if I use AWD A074800? I've read a lot online and have not seen any reports of denials, but then again I haven't seen a ton of people confirming that it was not a problem. Most people were just praising its large discount (not on the Prius of course). If I can use this code and go with the Cobalt, it will save me about $160 in rental fees. TIA! |

Hoping someone can help. I'm trying to rent a car in Skagway, AK for the day from Avis (the only major car rental company in town). The daily rate for an economy car is $87 plus taxes and none of the AWD codes seem to work. Has anyone found an AWD code that works in this location? |

I'm trying to rent a car in Boston (from BOS) for 7/3 - 7/6. Looking at intermediate size, I'm getting a rate of ~$103 (without any AWD). The strange thing is that no matter what AWD I put in, i.e., my corporate "discount", and some of the codes found here, they all end up giving me a higher rate, ~$111 - $135. Any ideas why that would be? |

Just booked with the AWD code #A108326 and coupon code MUWA139. The AWD is Costco Executive Membership, and the coupon code is for $30 off a weekly rental. You can print an actual coupon out by going through costco.com's travel section for car rentals. This saved me about 20% and another $30 will be knocked off at the counter (since the Avis coupons don't register til you pay). This works for lots of areas, and many people have costco memberships, so hopefully this helps! If you don't have an executive membership, you can try AWD A108325 or A108300 (don't know which is general and which is business, prob doesn't matter much). |

I tried to use this coupon , it doesn't seem to include free LDW? How do I know if it covers LDW? Thanks G417900 does include LDW. I use it all the time without a problem. My most reliable code for a consistantly good rate. It may not be the absolute rock bottom on every rental. But I don't like to check 10 codes to save just a few bucks. You can't go wrong with this one. This link may be of some help |

Use your Sears Card when you rent and save big with Avis. Be sure to include your AWD D302003 in your reservation to receive your up to 25% Sears discount. The rates I got here was exactly same as with AARP membership. |

Hi, I rent the 12-passenger van a couple of times a year for road trips. I am in SoCal and am renting one through Avis 7/27 - 7/31. I used AWD C031259, which saved me nearly $60 off the straight rate. My rate comes out to $89/day, which I think is pretty good, comparable to a mini-van rate. Good luck! |

Good luck! Hi, I tried the awd C031259 and it said "The Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number you have entered cannot be found in our records" ???
