Hi, Can someone help me out? I have never rented a car before, trying to follow OP's directions, but I am having a little difficulty....duh for me.... I need to rent a car (possibly a van) in Vegas for dates Oct 23rd through the 30th 2007. I would be picking it up at airport LAS. I do have a entertainment book. Can anyone explain to a newbie, how to do this to get the best deal possible? I am over 25, so that's not an issue. Also, can I rent the car, but have someone else in my party do the driving? I dread driving in Vegas. Thanks in advance, for any help for this newbie/learner. |

Thanks in advance, for any help for this newbie/learner. For your date and location, using C031529 (enter it under AWD box on the second page) drops the price from 198.99 to 179.09 for an intermiedate size. Apply a $30 off coupon, you will get a full size for $149. $149 for 1 week is not too bad. Good luck. |

Hi, I am booking my first rental car using the advice on here. I have a one-way weekly rental (actually 8 days) from LAX on July 31 11am to LAS August 8 8am. Do I need to print an actual coupon to show with a coupon code? I read the coupon discount is taken when you return the car, or is it renting the car? I'm confused. Sorry. Any help is appreciated. Great forum and board!! |

Hi Guys, I want to rent a car from vegas into LA from Aug 8 to Aug 11. I tried it on Avis (one way rental), but the price shows up like $230 + taxes for 3 days... I think I am doing something wrong... Can someone help me out please. I would prefer to rent the car somewhere near the strip in vegas and drop it off the lax thanks for your help in advance. |

Great forum and board!! A lot of Avis coupons are electronic ones. Meaning you do not require paper copy. However, if there is a link posted, why not printout a copy just in case. A piece of paper for peace of mind. Avis agent will deduct the coupon amount at counter. If you make sure they applied coupon during pick up, then it shows up upon you returning the car. If not, when you returning the car, make sure the coupon is applied. Not difficult at all. |

I really appreciate how much input you offer for those of us renting cars. It really seems to be a convoluted and complicated industry. I tried renting a mini-van in Seattle for August 2-10 and it showed that there were none available, nor were there any full size SUV's. Is that really the case, or are there probably vehicles available? I need 7 seats. Does the lack of availability hamper my efforts at getting a good deal? Thanks again, Brandon |

Thanks again, Brandon First of all, you are welcome. Helping people is my pleasure. Now, giving the high season, demand for mini-van or large SUV could be high. Airport location usually likes to keep them so local branches are having hard time to getting hold of them. Try airport location. Lack of availability of car does not necessary mean you are not getting a good deal. In fact, I would say C031529 code works better in summer due to it caps the rate you would have to pay. It saves more compared to low season. |

Anyone find a way around that $.40/mile charge with the one-way rental using the C031529 code? Anyone find good one-way deals? |

I'm looking for a full-size SUV with 3 rows and trunk space like a Suburban or Yukon XL. I'll be picking it up in either the Sacramento or San Francisco area (doesn't matter) on Friday August 31 and returning it on Tuesday September 3. I know it may be cheaper to get it for the week, which I can do also. Thanks. |

weinan said:Why it said "no miles included "? There is a bug inside Avis reservation system. If you book an ONE WAY car rental with C031529 AWD, sometimes it will lower the rate but forget to provide you unlimited miles. Last time I asked the counter, they say they are working on fixing it. |

hi, i'm looking to rent a full-size SUV from SFO on 8/31 - 9/3. When I'm at the summary page, the LDW is not included? Should it be included since I see on the first page that LDW is included using the discount link? It's $26.99 extra each day. Also, any good discount code that I can combine to make this a better deal? Thanks for your help!! |

Thanks for your help!! LDW is built into the code. It does not show on the website. This is normal. |
