Well, it varies. If you already have a line of credit with other vegas casinos, sometimes just checking the shared credit system they all have is enough. Others check your credit every time. Some it's soft and some it's hard. But, I would always be prepared and willing to take the hard pull if you are considering it so you aren't surprised. And don't even think about calling to ask them, I've tried that and have yet to talk to anyone who has a clue. |

Oh and tip the dealers if you win! I got a buffet without asking because I tipped my roulette dealer evrytime I won.[/Q said:
Two workarounds for the RC exp date 1) Get the TR credit card and make one charge to earn one point. This will keep your points active. 2) Send your TR player's card to a friend who lives near a Harrahs where you do NOT play. Have them earn one point. Be sure NOT to do this at a property where u receive valuable mail. The one point trip will kill your ADT.
Regarding tipping the dealer, I would advise not to go overboard. Most comp systems now are automated and your comp balance for table games is strictly based on avg bet X house edge X time played. Sure the pit boss can fudge your rating but don't expect too much juice just by tipping. What you tip could quickly equal the cash price of that buffet. I was going to PM you, but realized others may have this question too.. I mainly stay at IP. We go to Vegas 1 sometimes 2 times a year. I live in NH and will probably never go to Atlantic City to keep the Harrahs points active and I don't really want another credit card. So my question is.. in an earlier post you stated not to use the points, (comps), because it dilutes your ADT, is this just during your stay? Is it ok to use them when you check out? or does that do the same thing? Do they look at what you HAD for points when doing the comps or is it what you HAVE left for points? unfortuantly last trip we spent a lot in gamming, but went to multiple Harrah's properties in a day, I never realized your earlier advice of only one property a day. (Wish I had known before ) Thank you for any info And all of your earlier advice! |

I'm heading to Vegas for the first time end of May and I'm looking for some suggestions on where to do my gambling to maximize any comps. I will be staying at the Bellagio May 25-28. Seems like I'd have to gamble more than I'm comfortable with there and Harrahs may be a better bet. What is the opinion of most on where your comps get the most bang? |

If you insist on playing on the Strip there's some $1 9/6 Jacks or Better at Venetian which returns 99.54% with perfect strategy (pickup Frugal Video Poker to learn perfect strategy) |

Most Jacks or Better games on the strip are 8/5 or worse. I believe at Harrah's, they have $0.25 8/5 JB. |
