I want something on the strip that isn't Imperial Palace

Here are the best prices I have found so far:

MGM w/ Grand Tower Promo - $360 ($150, $150, $60)
Excalibur with View (View Room) - $373 ($151, $161, $61)
Luxor Pyramid Deluxe - $424 ($175, $185, $65)

Thanks

Have you found anything else that's cheaper? Buddies and I are actually going the same time you are. Everything seems to be really expensive on the strip (>$300).

I found a couple that are cheaper, Tropicana for $297 and Sahara for $314.

I work for Starwood so I made a reservation at Westin...$69 a night. I'd like to be more on the strip but I don't think I can pass up $69 a night. I might try to get the same deal at Aladdin (also Starwood owned).

I'm going to keep looking for deals, let me know if you find anything good, thanks.
Is the Westin going to give you the Vegas experience? I do not know much about that property, but I never hear anyone talk about it as their property of choice in LV. That is a good rate for a weekend stay, however.

I would book the Tropicana for the price you state you found. Please let us know where and how you got that rate for your dates of travel.

The experience is out on the strip not in your hotel room.
I should have been more clear: No, you are not and should not spend a lot of time in your room. What I was trying to say is that if the Westin in LV is just a cookie cutter property, what kind of experience is that? IMHO, there is something to be said about being able to take the elevator from your room down the the casino level at 6am, grab a coffee and play some games rather than have to venture off to another property first.

Yeup, I was thinking about the Westin too, since it was the cheapest I could find. But I think I will probably just book at the Tropicana, although I would prefer something in the middle of the strip.

Westin is a better location than Tropicana (if you are interested in the heart of the strip), it is less than a 10 minute walk to Caesars/Bellagio (Center Strip) and I know the rooms are much nicer. True enough it isn't the "typical" Vegas mega hotel, but really you are only sleeping in the rooms, and even that is on a limited basis. I would choose Westin everytime over Trop or any of the North Strip/Downtown places. Can't go wrong @$69 a night over the weekend.

The three nights at Caesars for $450 doesn't seem too bad... but it's hard to justify $150/night over $70/night. Aladdin is NOT helping me out even though I'm a fellow Starwood employee . I have Sunday tentatively booked but they claim that Friday and Saturday is blacked out for the $69 corporate rate.

I'm looking at this weekend (16th and 17th) and I can't get anything other than Circus Circus for those 2 nights under $400. Am I doing something wrong?

What is the best place to find the young, hip, annoying crowd ?

Where are planning to stay at Hard Rock on Friday and Saturday from our Wednesday-Monday trip, and are looking for some other places to stay on Wednesday and Thursday.

Also, can anyone tell us how Rehab is on SundaY?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any deals for hotel rooms from april 26-29 preferably closer to Treasure Island cause that's where my cousins wedding will be at and we would want a place on the strip thats not excalibur, circus circus or stratosphere, rio would be fine, ive looked all over in the hotel forums and everywhere and everything i find shows $600 for the 3 nights being the cheapest, is there a convention or something going on that weekend?

thanks for the help

What exactly have you found and where? See the first post in this thread, then update your request.

Yes, there is a convention in town: its called the weekend. I am sure there is a promo code in the LV Hotel Promo thread that can improve upon your $600 quote.

Well I gave in and booked at Caesars, the total with tax is $453 for March 30th (Fri - $120), March 31st (Sat - $120), and April 1st (Sun - $180). I wish Sunday was cheaper, that would have really sealed the deal. This also comes with a $50 spa credit that I hope to trade in for something else

The regular rate for those three nights is $1100 - yikes!

Hey all of you Vegas Junkies.... (dont worry, I am one as well)

Question for you.... I am going to Vegas in a week... Staying at the MGM Grand. When I made my reservation I made it for only two people when in fact there will be four in the room. Has anyone does this and have got caught? If so, what happen? I was thinking of when I check in at the airport slipping the person a huge tip for an comp up grade but also to tell them there will be 4 people in the room.... Any thoughts?

Jeannine

Hoping to stay in the Flamingo for 2 days, but can't find any good deals. Balley's has great rooms, but not such a great casino. Planet Hollywood is cool too, but again would love to stay at the Flamingo. Any ideas? Have searched all the usual places.

Jeannine,

Don't bother telling them about the 4 unless you are planning on all being at the pool at the same time. Even that can be circumvented if you tell the front desk you lost your keycards...they will issue you new ones for free (at least at Mandalay they did) and then you have 4! But back to the original point...just have your 2 other friends wait for a taxi while you check-in and you're all set. Works all the time. Worst that can happen is that they'll charge you the extra 50 or so bucks a night. Good Luck!

I took advantage of the Best Rate Guarantee. I found some no-name websites I have never heard of who ended up being pennies cheaper than harrahs.com for my Caesars reservation, and faxed the required paperwork to them. The following day they replied saying that their "Hot Deal" rate of $140 was better than what I sent them - but I paid the regular room rate of $180. As a courtesy they reduced my Sunday reservation from $180 to $140! So now I'm paying just $380 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Caesars (also comes with a $50 spa credit) for a reservation only two weeks away! See you in Vegas!

salsaking said:I have a bit of a strange request......I'm looking for a decent deal on a "fancy" dinner. I'm trying to impress someone and my budget for a dinner is about $120 or so for two people. I've only been to Vegas once so I'm not too familiar with the casinos etc. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

A couple of suggestions:

Take a taxi to the Rio and dine at the Voodoo Cafe on the 51st floor. After dinner you will be allowed to go upstairs to the Voodoo Lounge for free - have a drink, dance and/or enjoy fantastic views of Las Vegas at night.

RM Seafood @ Mandalay Bay. The place is pricey, but you can purchase a $25 restaurant.com certificate for $4-5 if you wait for a sale.

Moni Ami Gabi at Paris is casual French bistro well within your price limits. I would suggest dining on the patio with views the Bellagio fountains.

Take a taxi to Little Buddha @ the Rio for Pacific rim fare.

Border Grill @ Mandalay Bay which also participates in the restaurant.com program. Depending on the weather you may want to dine outside on the patio.

Or you can go here: Casa Di Amore

FREE Limo (not a Town Car) pick up at your hotel AND they participate in restaurant.com You will easily be under your budget of $120 even with a few drinks each and tip (18% added automatically if you use restaurant.com).

Casa di Amore also participates in the restaurant.com program. Everyone's taste is different, but the only thing impressive about the place is the limo ride. The food is pretty much standard Italian American food done unevenly. The restaurant itself is very unimpressive from both the outside and inside. This is not the restaurant you want to take anyone to if impressing he or she is important IMHO.
