It's my first time to rent a car. I am confused about the CDP code 1757580. I am not a Hertz #1 Gold member. Can I use the CDP code when I book on Hertz.com without hertz #1 gold status? Do I need to present something when I pick up the car? Will they check the CDP code? Or I just show them the Car and Driver Magazine?

I have a question.... With the hertz code 83080, I get a price of around $85 if I do not check the two boxes (corporate rate, official travel), but if I do check those boxes it drops to $69. What happens when I check the boxes? Will they ask for some kind of corporate ID?

I am doing almost the same rental, but a month later--I assume you are coming in on HAL and need to get to anchorage. Non rental car transfers are too high.

Not coming in on Hal but bringing the train down (most scenic in Alaska) but return time does not work(6:00 pm) with our flight out of Anchorage.
If you have a chance to take the train to Anchorage I would jump at it!! Cruisecritic.com forums have a wealth of information.

I got the free gold club membership but could not get any other coupon to work when I tried to make a reservation. The error code is
"Not all requirements for the Promotion Coupon - 109955 requested have been met. We have removed the Promotion Coupon from your request to provide you with the best rate. Via hertz.co.uk UK with no vouchers I can find ~$1700 + ~$500 LDW
Using the Virgin Atlantic code, I get $1735 + ~$500 LDW
If I was to get a rental car that retails at less than $50,000, AMEX insurance will cover the LDW for $200.
Using the Virgin code 708870, there seems to be little to no discount between weekly/fortnightly or monthly rentals, so to maximise potential freqeunt flyer rewards earning opportunities or to utilize discount codes, I am able to make multiple reservations, that could go something like this....
