Wow, I tried 1910991 for Government employee leisure travel and the price was about double every other code I've tried (or no code at all.)
Finally found 62455 which is United FF that gave me a cheaper cost. I decided to join the Hertz Gold Rewards thing first & then went back and searched again and the price doubled again!
62455 (UA FF) while logged in $884.44 62455 (UA FF) as guest $349.96 1910991 (Govt Leisure) as guest $865.05 1910991 (Govt Leisure) while logged in $865.05 77694 (USAA) while logged in $919.23 77694 (USAA) as guest $384.76 1757580 (Car & Driver) as guest $384.76 1757580 (Car & Driver) while logged in $384.76 1911795 (Generic Travel & Incentive) as guest $384.76 1911795 (Generic Travel & Incentive)while logged in $919.23
It's strange that when I'm logged in it shows me many more options. The one I originally selected is included though, so I'm comparing the same selection across all of them.
I figured out the why I was getting different prices. When booking as a guest no insurance options are offered or included. It just says they will be available at the counter. When you are logged in, it pulls the preferences you set in your profile and includes the cost in the vehicle selection page. Once you choose a vehicle and continue on it drops to the lower price without the insurance options.
I'll have to go back and relook at the competition as their rates were higher, but the quotes already included the insurance options.
Finally found a deal on Hertz. CDP 62455 (United) & Rate Code: Early1 (European advanced booking discount special)= $285.58 on the same car I was looking at earlier. I also found another car I think I like better that's only $252.43.
I think that's good enough that am ready to go ahead and book it. I just need to figure out if I want to try & get the Hertz Reward Points or Marriott Rewards.
edit: Adding PC 114380 supposedly gives double miles/points too and I get the same price with the Marriott CDP 114380.

You don't have ID for it...they don't have to honor rate and can charge you a huge price difference than quote you got based on misinformation. It's up to you if you want to try it.... When people do this it ruins the rate for those WHO LEGITIMATELY QUALIFY FOR IT...AKA HERTZ EMPLOYEES.

Hey Guys. Im from Germany and I wanted to rent a car aroudn the 14th of April till the 27th of April. Problem is am 24 and a student so the prices are killing me. Want to ask if someone got a solution for me? With my current research I have to pay about 520 Euros at least thats about 672 $ with all insurances and the young adult driver Fee at Alamo. Any help would do thanks.
I needed a luxury car in Sarasota Florida. I have had nothing but problems with rentals at this airport. Dollar is always the cheapest and is owned by Hertz but they never have the car you reserve and it is always a hassel. Avis has been just as bad and forget National. This airport never has the luxury car and they could care less that they can't provide the car you reserve. I started working on Hertz a couple of weeks ago. The first rate I got for a 2 week rental was $1200.00 with all taxes included and Avis was $850. I think, why not try to call Hertz and see if they can match the rate. I am a Gold Club Member and use them a lot on business travel so I make the call and the very nice lady said the best rate she could give me was $1078.00 for the two week rental. I told her that was about $225.00 higher than Avis and she offered me another $40 off to bring the rate to $1038.00 and said that is the best Hertz could do and I wouldn't find a better Hertz rate than that.
I go through the site here and check some codes I am able to use with no problems and I qualify for and finally get a total price rate of $908.00 which is $130 lower that the best Hertz rate that she said I couldn't beat. So don't think you will get the best deal by calling for a better rate. You have to spend some time working it.
