Just an FYI....EZ-Rent-A-Car just dumped rates. For a 17 day early summer Orlando trip I just nabbed a total price of $360 for an Economy using the code "CABIN" and and extra 3% off by liking them on FB. Never used them before so hopefully they are not bad. Looks like free additional driver for spouse as well.
1) REQUEST – Car Rental at LAX 2) 6/8 10:00-12:00 Pickup. Drop p 3) LAX and somewhere near Hilton, Anaheim, CA. For Avis (ANA) is the best drop off. And Hertz its the Downtown Marriott. 4) Used C070127 with Ldw for Compact for $100/and altima for 122. Best rate was with the government of Florida which has the subcompact for $40.37 (without ldw). Hertz has rates around $100. Needless to say but would like to keep the cost low but have some room in the car. So maybe a compact or higher.
Moderator Comment: This new list for requests is a bit more tailored toward cars.
Before posting your request, make sure to check out the codes in this thread, especially the original post. Then, look over the last 5 or 6 pages for code updates. If you have done that and tried at least 3 codes and/or companies, you’re ready to post your request.
1) Title should start with the word "REQUEST" (e.g. "REQUEST – Car Rental at LAX")
2) Dates you plan to travel. Being as specific as possible is a must. If times can be a little flexible, please indicate that.
3) Departure and Destination.
4) What you have found so far in your own research. Please make sure to have tried at least 3 different codes and/or companies. Please supply the rates you received with each code and/or company (This prevents duplication of research and is a great way to inform the community of what is out there!) — May. 2, 2013 @ 3:07pm

1) REQUEST – Car Rental at LAX 2) 6/8 11:00 onward pickup - 6/9 Before 1 drop off. 3) LAX to (Avis - ANA) or (Hertz Downtown Marriot, Anaheim, CA) 4) Found the cheapest rates at Avis with the Florida Govt code but heard its risky. Rates were around $60 for compact. Used the car and driver code and noticed that we can get compact for $100 or altima for $122.
Our conference is at Anaheim. We are planning on taking a tour of san diego on saturday. So fly into lax drive into san diego and then drop off the car in anaheim.

I was trying to use different Avis AWD code for trip to Alaska. Some of the codes that work for me are A074800 (Citi Corp) A113400 (State of Florida Employee) A442100 (Deloitte) A515100 (HP) A972200 (Farmer's Insurance) B771000 (Unknown) G930700 (IBM)
Can anybody can share with me and see which one is the most safe to use at ANC airport?

The ones that you legitimately qualify for is the safest one to use. I have been asked for something as simple as a COSTCO card. Which I did have...
I have found a full size car at $171 which is great, but I have been reading that if you have a 4x4 you can access some great beaches that most people don't get to. That's where prices have jumped. So I would like a 4x4. I have been looking at intermediate SUVs, here is what I have seen so far (all prices are including taxes/fees):
Costco Travel: Intermediate SUV $401 Standard SUV $449
Budget w/ coupon S139300 (found on this thread a page back) Intermediate SUV $506.38
That's what I have so far. Costco seems to have the best prices all around. The funny thing, last year I rented an intermediate SUV using Costco at Kona and it was the same price as a full size, now it is twice the price. Any help would be great. I would like the 4x4 to get to some secluded places, but paying over twice as much may not be worth it...
I have good news, and bad. The good, Costco's prices went down today. Now the intermediate SUV is $341, and the standard is $391.
The bad, I called Alamo, the company with the low price on Costco, and they told me that none of their SUVs are guaranteed 4x4 except the Wrangler which isn't in any category, it is basically something you have to upgrade in to. She suggested booking a Standard SUV and upgrading there. But they are often out of the Wranglers. That is pretty lame...
Update:
Dollar and Thrifty both have Jeep Wranglers as an option on their site. Both are at $495. I've been trying codes I have found on here but so far no luck. Ideas?
@ fldaves......if it's about space and you can sub the SUV for an elite mini-van(Grand Caravan), you can nab one at Advantage for $295 pay later or $226 pay now. Use code DC3130.
no prob....I would recommend what I did, and continue to do for a long trip in MCO in June. Go to Kayak.com and enter your times, etc. Get the results and bookmark the results page----on your PC and phone. Check every day and at multiple times. When I started doing it 6 months ago I was happy with $650 for 17 days.....there was occasional dropping here and there but all of a sudden I nabbed a $300 total 2 weeks ago. A day later they were right back up.
I'd keep checking and think you will find better rates in a month or so....GL.

I am new to this thread and am wondering. If nobody replies does that mean nobody is seeing a better deal? Or, if somebody looks and doesn't see a better deal they will say so. Thanks.
@ Matrim33......Costco looks like your best bet. Rates are down today. That Int SUV is $333 at Alamo.
Edit: Just read your prior post about Alamo not guaranteeing 4*4. I'd be very surprised if they are not but just in case I'd book the full AND the INT SUV. If they can't provide the 4*4 take the full(great price). Just explain you double booked for that reason if you have to switch. GL

I think I am just going to go with a car for now. There is no guarantee that I will get a 4x4 and to pay over double seems a little crazy. We are already going to pay a ton on gas. Maybe we can go 4 wheeling next time
@hiho...that Costco price is great for a Standard. Alamo is great also since no deposit and free spouse(IF THEY ARE INSIDERS WHICH TAKE 2 MINUTES TO JOIN FOR FREE. I even tried some "risky" codes and can't beat it. I'd book, but continue to monitor daily since rates change by the sec. Do a general search and bookmark to make it easier like I mention in post above. GL
Hello acarr777, Thank you for the alamo insiders tip. I signed us both up this morning. I have that reservation on hold and will check back a few times and keep that if that is best. thank you!!!!!
Update-price went down! rebooked same everything at 262 this morning woohoo costo car rental is GREAT!
