nachas said:This deal is NOT dead. I just upgraded to executive status until feb 2010. even though the link looks like a regular emerald club enrollment page if you continue and fill out the entire registration you will be upgraded to executive.

If I could add 20+ to the green for your post, I would. Filled out as you said and upgraded to Executive. Awesome!

Thank you Nachas for the note on it appearing to be a regular sign-up. I actually would have just bypassed it because it appeared to be the same Emerald sign up. It carried my normal log-in over from the existing Emerald account I have always had. It will be nice to have a slightly larger selection of vehicles to choose from in Vegas - normally they have several in the Emerald, but sometimes it is very sparse. And I always book mid-size so its nice to know that will qualify me for Exec Aisle use. I appreciate the links for both sign-up and explanation of processes. You guys are great.

Tried it myself. Been long time National Customer, they usually have alot of ways to get the cheapest rate and discount the most with last minute reservations. Will be nice to choose from Executive Aisle from now on. Worked fine. I first though re-enrollment was mistake as well. Then when I read other posts realized I had to re-enroll.

CaptainAlias said:mom2boys said:WOW! I read thru the exchange between you and Minyan who seems to be rather new and trying to help. An answer to your question might be found by calling National and asking them directly instead of relying on posts here if you are unable to find the info where Minyan told you. It is unreasonable to expect someone to link for you. You should be able to search using the info provided. If not, just call them and ask.

Minya- please don't get discouraged when some of us get grumpy! (We are all guilty of it and I will be the first in line!!)

Let us know what you find out!

I would call National, but it's generally faster and more efficient to glean information from other members who have more knowledge than I do on the matter, hence my question. Look at every single thread in Hot Deals or Travel Deals, or anything else. It's full of posts of people asking questions and seeking answers. Are they stupid questions? Perhaps sometimes. Are they obvious questions? Perhaps, yes as well, but it's in the spirit of the forum to share information with fellow FWers. Have I answered a hundred stupid repetitive questions from noobs asking what extra care bucks are? yes, but I don't go around negging their posts. And please note that Minyan negged my original question post even before I replied. You knew the answer, why not share it?

Of course I'm going to get angry if Minyan says, "It's on the National website". If M knows, then why not share some information in the spirit of FW? I already checked the National website prior to asking my question, and watched both EA and ES intro videos, and didn't find them particularly helpful. Now I'm going to be renting from National in the next month, and I will be happy to share my experiences with my fellow FWers, if asked.

I don't know why so many reds, but I totally agree with you.

If you don't like the questions asked, just leave it there, there might be some other people who are willing to help. You should not expect everyone to know exactly the same thing as you.

As for either calls or google, almost everything could be found out by either internet searching or direct calling, the only difference is how easy it is. It might take someone a couple of hours to google out the answer, while if posted, might only take someone a few seconds to answer. If you argue that all questions that could be googled or called should not be posted, then why should there be any questions asked at all???

Regarding the contributions, if all people are as harsh as those giving reds, how dare we post a deal?

I've asked my questions, and I answered questions whenever I could, no matter how obvious and how easy they seemed, that was what I thought this forum was for, for people to help each other. Now after reading this post, I understand how lucky I was since for all the questions I asked, I didn't get any response like what you got.

Been an Emerald Club member for 2 years, but now Executive thru Feb 2011!

As stated above, it looks like it's a standard sign up but go through it. My name and address information automatically populated once I entered my driver license number. Acted like it was a new registration but my EC number remained the same as well as my login, along with my entire rental history staying in place.

Worked for me. Probably will never use it because I always use Priceline bidding for personal travel and I'm cheap - but doesn't hurt to have if I end up on a business trip or something.

Worked like a dream. Thanks!
