Ummmmm, how about the room quality (& hooter maid)?

DO you get any free wings with it?

was it a typo? your actually meant "girls", right?

oooh boy. Not to thread crap, but that place was pretty run down the last I visited this past december. 7 bucks a night's hot, but damn, the girls working there....definitely not.

One of the worst hotels to stay in Vegas. Not too bad of a location (2 blocks off the strip).

This place just opened up and I heard that it is a dump

It isn't as nice as the other places in the area but it beats staying at a dump downtown.

I stayed there about 18 months ago and it was in great shape and was a real bargain. Loved the blackjack dealers too.

There are actually some decent places to stay downtown. Golden Nugget and Main Street Station are both pretty decent hotel. Golden Nugget is nicer then a lot of strip hotels. Four Queens and Fitzgeralds are also both decent places. Don't know why everyone always wants to knock on downtown. All of those hotels are better then Hooters. Good find though OP.

My mom and brother stayed there when they came to visit over Thanksgiving. Worse thing about it was one of the parking garage elevators felt like it was going to collapse. The rooms are pretty much like every other sub $50 room I've ever been in. There's nothing flashy, but I wouldn't say it's a dump (except for that one elevator). I think the location is great. Walking distance to both MGM Grand and NY NY, and the airport is two right turns and two minutes away. When I leave town for the weekend I park my car there and either get a ride from a fried or cab it to the airport. That way I'm not paying $20 a day to park or if I can't get someone to pick me up it's a short cheap cab ride back. Most of the employees there are very attractive, which definitely affects my perceptions. If the clientele were on average 30 years older and smoked a lot more, and if the employees were not attractive then I would categorize the place as a dump with a lot of other downtown casinos (and there are some true dumps downtown - years ago my father couldn't even get a cab to pick him up from the El Cortez because they won't allow their drivers to go there late a night).

The parking garage elevator does suck, but the elevators to the rooms are great. The women are cute and from midnight to 7am you can get 25 cent wings at the Joe Montana Restaurant. Good deal for about $1.50 a night...

Not really sure why you consider a place a "dump" based on their elevators, smoke, and how attractive employees are.... I'm not saying downtown is the best place in the world. Just saying all things considered that downtown is actually better then the strip in some aspects. Hotels are cheaper, some hotels are nicer or comparable, food is cheaper, gambling is much better, and casinos are closer. People should consider casino/hotels based on how much fun they have at them, what there is to do, food, etc etc.... Not based on how good looking the employees are, and how nice the elevators look.

Here is what Cheapovegas has to say about this property:

Hooters has actually been open for about 3 years. It was formally known as the San Remo hotel and I heard somewhere that one of the hotel towers was actually a Howard Johnson's way back in the 70s.

It is a dump (compared to most strip properties), though. It is within walking distance of MGM Grand (directly across the street) and Tropicana (a few steps down the sidewalk), so you are only a few steps away from the action.

Hooters is a joke....we stayed at the Desert Rose which is right behind Hooters and got an eyeful of naked girls hanging over the balcony beckoning to the boys at the pool. We went there for dinner one night and had to wait for our table, so we went out to the pool to have a cocktail while we waited. Since there was no wait service, my husband went to the bar to get our drinks. Some guy tried to pick up on me while he was gone! And I'm a pudgy middle aged Mom, for god's sake! I guess it's a great place for college kids to stay....cheap and anything goes!!

They have $3 roulette.

This used to be the San Remo and it was run down then and it is run down now. So the place is not 4 star soo what. Who goes to Vegas to stay in thier room? If you want a nice Vegas experience stay at one of the many nice strip hotels. If you just want a place to sleep and shower Hooters will do. Like it was mentioned before it is right off the strip adjacent to MGM and the Tropicana and near the airport and the Thomas and Mack center. Its all about the experience you want to get out of Vegas.

Bunch of drunk irresponsible kids keep tearing the place up.

hooters hotel isnt that bad. i went there last time for their $3 blackjack. lowest limits in town, true theres only one table that offers $3 blackjack but if u wait or go late night, you'll find a seat. the hooters dealers didnt hurt either

free Hooters waitresses in my room too?

If you're used to eating any kind of decent food whatsoever, then you'll be eating out of the hotel all the time. The food there is TERRIBLE. I actually looked FORWARD to eating at the Dennys on the strip.

Did you all think that $7 would get you a MGM Suite quality room?

$7 is great, yeah the place is not the best, but that is more money for eating at nice places and or gambling. I never stay in my room more than 4-5 hours per day anyway. $7 to store my stuff during the day and lay my head for a couple hours is a great deal.

stay 4 nights in 1 hotel casino is boring

try staying 4 nights but at different hotel is my style. You are there for a good time so why not get that nice crispy feeling when you check into a hotel eh? After the 3rd night at the same joint will make you miss home. When you check into a different hotel and on a different night, you are at home.

My style is to casino rob such place, wipe your azz and leave it dirty.

Try searching on Expedia for a sunday stay at hooters. 31% off right now so it makes the price to be at $20 and using the code 10mar will knock it down to 10 plus $5 hotel resort fee.

$15 to stay on sunday

or a better value would take their promo package at $49 minus 10mar will make it $40 but they give you $100 in play points and you tell me you can't make $40 off your play points? They even give you extras too and a free gift (I think it's a hooter tees)

Hooters Promotional Package
Book a stay in a qualifying rate plan for travel September 5, 2008 - December 31, 2009 and receive a Value Pack at check-in. The Value Pack includes the following offers:
# $20 off Sass Spa services
# One free show ticket
# $100 free slot play
# $20 match play
# Two-for-one breakfast buffet
# Two-for-one drinks
# Two-for-one chicken wings
# Free gift

Must book "Includes Promotion Package" rate plan to receive benefits. One Value Pack per booking. No monetary value. Offers and dates available are subject to change without notice.

Those are the promotions that anyone who signs up for their card gets. The $100 free slot play is a gimmick, genius. Then their other coupons like the wings, drinks, etc are only certain hours at certain bars, etc. Hooters blows.

i stopped in this place while waiting to check-in at luxor last time to vegas. a few of the female dealers were hot, but the tables take yer money way to quickly. not fun considering you can't touch the girls... the luxor on the otherhand, rocked imo..

I guess what do you want for 7 bucks, but with all the hotel deals available in Vegas right now, and you're not a super super broke college kid, this is a pretty crappy place. This place will give you some serious wiskey tango culture shock after walking out of any of the other strip hotels. It's almost like the hotel is in Las Vegas, Kentucky (no offense to Kentucky).
