Some one has reported that they got the 500 miles for just linking accounts without having miles.
When you link your Northwest WorldPerks account with your Delta SkyMiles account you can combine your transferable miles immediately to redeem for mileage upgrades, award travel, and even shopping. Enjoy the benefits of both programs, even before they’re fully integrated.
Combine miles for upgrades Earn award travel faster Unlimited mileage transfer between both accounts Link your accounts by March 15, 2009 and earn 500 Bonus Miles Linking your WorldPerks and SkyMiles accounts now will enable automatic consolidation of your account history, including elite qualification balances, when the programs merge.
Two simple steps to faster rewards:
Validate account numbers and PINs. You’ll enter both your WorldPerks and your SkyMiles login for authentication. Link accounts, transfer miles. After linking your accounts, you can begin to transfer miles from one account to the other. You may transfer as many miles as you want in either direction--as many times as you want--as long as the miles are there to transfer.
Or you may choose to only link your accounts and not transfer your miles at this time. You can return as often as you want to transfer miles between accounts.
You can link your accounts and transfer miles now. Refer to the terms and conditions for complete details.
How long does it take for the 500 miles to post after the transfer from Delta. I did it about a couple of months ago or so, and am yet to see them posted.

i did it last month and already have 500 miles added to my Delta account.
btw, if you've already done the courses before, probably last year or two years ago, you won't get the miles again by doing it. "You have already earned Bonus Miles for this quiz and are eligible to receive Bonus Miles only once for each completed quiz." is what i got for courses #1 and #4, my guess is i've done them all in the past, so not going to try 2 and 3.
its for a lot of the Delta members who just became nwa members for the free 500 miles

I got "extra credit" offers after I completed each quiz.
One of them was that I was automatically enrolled to get 1000 miles if I made two $25 or more purchases from two separate merchants at the Worldperks Mall in the next 60 days.
Another was 2000 miles for completing a NW roundtrip.
Linked my accounts a while ago. Just took my first flight with Delta. First leg from LAX at 10am was delayed. Missed connection in SLC. Rerouted through Minneapolis. Arrived in Omaha at midnight.

After you complete the quizzes, log into your Worldperks account and click on "Manage my account" and then on "My promotions status." Completing the quizzes may have enrolled you in several promotions that you may have overlooked as you were hurrying to earn your miles. You can see the details of these promotions on that web page.
I posted a thread about all the free miles you could get by doing Worldperks University last fall, thinking that I'd found something new, and I got told off that it had already been posted here in the past! It might even have been locked.
I think it's good to remind people once in a while - you can't expect folks to read through thousands of past posts, but often it seems that's the assumption.
I wonder if there is any way to have a "highlights" list that is stickied at the top of the forum so readers can just go there and find the good deals that are on offer right now. I suppose that would take someone a lot of work to make sure it was kept up to date.
Also, a helpful thread (by someone else) on vitamin coupons was locked yesterday on another forum, because it was "covered by a previous thread", when that previous thread was "THE OFFICIAL thread for such-and-such vitamin company", but how in the world are new users supposed to know that a lot of companies have an OFFICIAL thread if those official threads are really hard to find, are not obviously shown/pointed out on this website, and are often even hidden nonsensically on page 4 or something of the searchbox results when you search under that company's name? It doesn't make any sense.
By the way, because people here are wondering about when you get the 500 miles for linking your NW and Delta mile accounts, this week I got 500 miles from Delta for linking my 2 miles accounts. They sent me a specific email to say that the miles had been posted to the Delta account for this specific reason. I did the linking when it was first possible, probably at least 2 months ago. So that's how long it took for me to get those miles.

Awesome. I had 2000 miles somehow in NW so now have 2400. I went ahead and moved over 1200 now and later this year will move over the remaining 1200 as it should reset the mileage expiration on my Delta account when it adds the miles. Woot!
why would one need to go externally to google to find something in fatwallet's own archives? if that's the best/only way to conduct an effective search, fatwallet should be up front about it and put that info somewhere near the search box.
I assume the 500 miles for linking only works for people who already have both accounts?
