Or are you just saying that using the coupon effectively resulted in a B2G1-similar (buy 2 nights, get 1 free) final cost? |

The poster is probably just trying to make an example of the savings off normal rates or promo rates at the hotel. |

I received my coupon yesterday as well. You NEED to understand or learn how to use this coupon. You do not get a $50 discount off of your bill. You get $50 to add to your offer. For instance, if you bid $50 on a 4* hotel for 5 nights, PL will submit the bid as if you bid $60 per night ($50/5 nights = $10 per night). So the trick is to use a site like biddingfortravel to see what a winning bid might be and then subtract the daily bonus money from your bid. So in the example above, if $50 is a possible winning bid, you would bid $40. PL would submit a $50 per night bid. If you win you will only be charged $40 per night (plus tax and PL BS fees). If you bid $50 and $50 is a winnable bid, you just wasted your $50 bonus money. |

it has nothing to do with how many followers they have. They're giving just 500 coupons out to the people with the most followers. |

I agree that the "$50 coupon" tag is misleading if you aren't familiar with typical PL bonus cash rules. I've gotten bonus cash several times after problems with a hotel stay that I'd booked through their service. Usually they dish out an "up to" $50 coupon, which is valid for $10/day for up to 5 days for a maximum of $50. Don't remember seeing the star restriction before though. However, as was previously stated, since they jacked up the hotel star ratings by a 1/2 star across the board 3 stars = places like Marriott Courtyard or Hilton Garden Inns. Still, though, it's free money - I use PL all the time, anyway, so I'll take it. |

It's normally 2.5* or better but this is a better deal. I've been a Priceline customer since 1998 It's been since the early 2000's when they gave up to $100 bonus money ($25 per night) since they had a better bonus money opportuinty than this. At that time, there was no * restriction. |

I got one of the last round of coupons, and I heard about the deal here. Thanks OP and FWF So the $50 bonus -- does it stick around if you have an unsuccessful bid? IE you try it, no dice, can you make a new bid (assuming you meet other Priceline restrictions for rebidding) and still get the bonus? |

IE you try it, no dice, can you make a new bid (assuming you meet other Priceline restrictions for rebidding) and still get the bonus? It only gets applied if you win the bid. Assume that you bid for $45 for five night and are successful, with the coupon, you will pay $35 x5 +fees. Do realize that if you stay only TWO nights, you get only $20 and cannot claim the other three at a later date. |

Thanks. I didn't even see the option to use it for only two nights. It's a little different than bonus money in the past, where it adds it on top of the bid, now it subtracts it from the bid if it helps you win. Guess smarter for them (PL) but harder to decipher for us. |
