booking a car for friday and returning it later the same day. if i input that it charges the full rate, but if i put returning sat morning it gives the discounted rate. Do you think they'll give me a hard time about returning the car early? whats others thoughts?

Does anyone know if costco membership card/proof is required at the time of rental (pick-up)?

We grabbed this deal for Memorial Weekend road trip from Lincoln, NE to Cedar Point Amusement Park to do some recon and take the Ultimate Roller Coaster Challenge baby! Reservation indicated earliest pick up was 9:00am but I called Alamo airport counter and they said we could pick up car 1 hour early with no extra cost, which we did dammit. Also, was expecting Chevy Aveo or Cobalt but got Ford Focus with Sirius/XM radio no extra charge. Alamo attendant said they can't get any more GM cars right now (maybe Alamo corporate doesn't want to buy GM till the financial dust settles). Either way it ain't nothin but a thang.

Did not have to show my Costco card at pickup but voluntarily gave them my name, rank and Costco account number upon car return to avoid possible additional billing later, which would make my agent-orange act up.

800 miles west to Sandusky Ohio strait down I-80 Thursday (13.5hrs), two days of Coaster heaven Friday & Saturday, returned Lincoln Sunday, turned car in this morning at 9:00am. 1,650 miles at average 31.5 mpg!
My advice...GET SOME

Try Alamo or National last minute deals....rent on the hour.
