Ran a 4 day 2p trip through to Vegas for the MGM Signature on both US air and SWA Vacations. They both give really crappy flights for the rock bottom price, tweaked flights slightly, still redeyes but gives more destination time
Ended up being: $1190-$30FWCB SWA versus $1173 USAir
Crazy how close these are. Can't seem to find any way to lower based on my dates 4d 25th-1st Jun-jul.
Check Continental Vacations. I was really surprised. I wanted good flights which would have cost $938 for two bought separately. I got those flights, 4 nights at the Monte Carlo and 2 Cirque tix for $1003 ($65 more). Next best deal I found was $250 more. There is a promo code on the website. Going 1PM on a Saturday, leaving noon on a Wednesday.
Thanks for the post OP. I was able to book Wed-Sat at the MGM Grand with roundtrip (direct) flight from Minneapolis, show tickets and airport transfers for two people for only $700. Booking separately would've been over $1,100 ($480 flight, $400 hotel, $200 tickets, $24 transfers). Now let's hope the $20 trick works and turns it into an even greater deal.
I just was in Vegas last week, from PDX, staying at MGM grand Tue-Fri (3 nights). Bought through Orbitz vacations, package total for two people was $540 ($270/person incl round trip flight from PDX and 3 nights stays). Also got $35 in resort cash. Signed up for Player's Card at MGM Grand and got 2 for 1 CdS tickets (Ka - located in MGM Grand). It was nearly booked, and they have 2 shows a night. Seats are priced anywhere from $69 to $169. My guess is for the above deal, your 2 free tickets are only valid on the lower price levels, so ask your concierge when you get there.
Overall trip was great! Made some money at the blackjack tables. Trick is to leave when you are ahead, and then go back refreshed (don't play too long at a time). $20 trick probably won't work here, it has a 50% success rate from what I hear and it's not a great bonus. Plus the place is still selling out on the weekends (due to all these fantastic deals, I'd assume).
Also, they have 44 oz margaritas at the pool that cost a whopping $21. But keep the cup (it's more like a tower) and you get a refill for $9 (probably only same day since they check your bags at the pool entrance). That is the way to go.
If you are debating on whether or not to go, go. You will have a blast. PM me for more info!
Already got my show tickets booked. They do give you ticket up in the boonies.. but what do you expect when it's free. Seems like if you want cirque tickets, make sure you DO NOT put Lion King as one of your choices. Why? Because they will give you lion king.

Just wondering...when did you get your Cirque ticket info? I booked yesterday and still didn't get any e-mail or info about how to claim them yet...

thanks OP....after several iterations, i got a rate of 262$ for 3 days SJC->LAS at Mirage. Hope the show tickets show up soon. People, please post if you got the show tickets and made reservations.
-- got the show ticket form the next day and sent it out. Apparently only O is sold out (promo seats) so got KA - the seats I got assigned was Q101-1,2 which is the farthest left corner of the theatre but atleast its row Q so its about center in terms of vertical positioning!
FYI- they require you to come to the box office and pick up the tickets 4 hours prior to the show (which IMO is unreasonable)
ah ok, the CSR told me to be there 4 hours before and that freaked me out as i will have to rush to the hotel (mirage) , get the room keys and then rush back to MGM grand to get the tix. I got the rate quoted above for sat thru tuesday -- some weekend days atleast.
