I have a 9:45 flight into IAD (I know I am cutting it close) on 8/12, out 8/19 at noonish. IAD=Washington Dulles. I need a minivan to fit my family of three, plus grandparents, sister and nephew on a drive to-from VA beach/Norfolk. The boys are 10 and 8.
The cheapest I can find is still $600-650, and I am really hoping to cut that back some. Example, from Enterprise: 1 Week @ $ 533.71 USD $ 533.71 USD VEHICLE LICENSE RECOVERY FEE $ 0.70 USD Subtotal $ 534.41 USD AIRPORT ACCESS FEE $ 59.38 USD SALES TAX $ 59.38 USD
* Total Estimated Charges $ 653.17 USD
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This van costs as much as the three plane tickets!
Do you need the van the entire week? If not, you might be better off renting the van only for the time you actually do need it and a smaller car the rest of the week. Also, if you can't find any deals on a single van, you might be better off renting 2 smaller cars

I thought about renting two cars, but one would need to be rented from the airport, and the second from my mother's house, so it's not like I can give them the airport car and trade it in and then back, can I?
