the visa card like everybody said is accepted everywhere (i used it to buy shorts at a Nike Factory Outlet and also for dinner at a sushi place). the Carlsbad one is sold out. you'll need to travel to the San Ysidro Las Americas outlet next to the border. i got 2 there yesterday.
