After searching through the Las Vegas travel deals, Travelocity, and Expedia, I realize I need help. We will be driving to LV on Oct. 13th, staying two nights-the 13th and 14th. We are one married couple with a mother-in-law who does not wish her own room. So, I am looking for a suite or a large room with large beds for three adults. We were thinking we should look for a package at the MGM Grand because we want to see the Cirque show, LOVE. I have not bought tickets yet. We haven't been in LV for 5 years or more. So, I am not working confidently. Travelocity and Expedia quote prices of $100 for basic rooms. When I attempt to book a nicer quality room, I am seeing the exceeds number of guests notice. We thought we'd better try to find something more than the basic room to give mother-in-law the experience she can brag about. Budget is $150 to $200 for the room, and I realize I need to get tickets for buffets. I have read that I need to continue reading the postings on the Las Vegas Travel postings to find the up to date package deals. I have become a member of the Player's Club; no deals are posted there as yet. What do you recommend?

Have you read through the Las vegas Hotel deal thread CAREFULLY?

We are relative novices when it comes to Vegas, but I have spent may hours looking for deals in late December, and have done quite well.

For example: although shown as expired, I was able to call MGM and get the MGM Grand LOVE and KA Offer (INB276) for late December (ended up cancelling). Valid: August 2, 2009 - December 29, 2009, Expires: July 25, 2009, Rates from $48, Stay 2 nights, get 50% off tickets to KA or LOVE.

There are several MGM promotions which offer 2-1 buffets, so although a bigger room may run you $250 for the stay, you make it up with the buffet promotion.

Due to our limited budget, we are currently booked at the Excalibur, which is across the street from the MGM: https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=EXC&host=offer&code=XTWB2 Not as nice as the MGM, and the buffet gets mixed reviews, but it is free ALL DAY, extending our budget. You can get a Deluxe Room for 3 people for $148.20 all in, which should include the free VIP buffet access for 3 adults.

While a bit of a drive, the Southpoint has a BOGO promotion, offering 835 square foot 1 Bedroom Suites for $170 - $195 https://reservations.synxis.com/lbe/rez.aspx?Hotel=11548&promo=ESPEC09&arrive=09/07/09&src=ESPEC09&jmid=65931&j=237017593

http://hotels.Travelzoo.com/las-vegas-hotels is another good resource.

Since it's a weekday, $100 seems too much. There are many hotels where you can hit your budget. Since you said you wanted to see LOVE, why did you pick MGM? LOVE shows in Mirage, KA is in MGM. The good thing about booking directly with the hotel, is that you can always cancel and rebook if you find something better. I would book the best you can find at this time, and check back 1 - 2 monthes before your travel dates, because that is the normal time that they announce "specials".

As for rooms, you should not have an issue getting a room with 2 queen size beds. That's a norm in Vegas.

Use offer code MGM030 and you will get a $67/nt rate over the dates you requested. Thats a standard room with two queen size beds, and you also get a bunch of 2for1 inclusions.
