1)Smart travelers know how to book the cheapest room in the house and "renegotiate" for a suite deal upon checkin.

2)The MC gives you a glorious view of the half-finished/bankrupt construction project next door.

Haha. Sorry! I've never been to Vegas (and have little to no interest in ever going). I just saw the word "suite" and the price and it seemed like a good deal.

I think you are thinking the Fontainebleu. The property next door to the Monte Carlo is City Center and is nearly complete, Fontainebleu is way further down the strip.

You are correct. It almost went bankrupt in Q1 2009.
