This is a heads-up about FUTURE changes! (We know how you hate surprises.)
1. We’ll be testing* new designs in a couple weeks: homepage, header, margins, top deals, and main navigational pages including the forums index.
Our goal is to make it easy to find what you want and use features to personalize your experience.
2. When we looked at our forums line-up, we thought it’s high time to re-name a few as some of you have suggested: Deal Discussion --> Consumer Resources Online Auctions --> Online Auction Info Computers --> Technology Travel Deals --> Travel Discussion
3. Travel deals will all be in the hot deals (travel & tickets category), leaving the existing forum as a resource and discussion area.
4. You’ll notice popular topics will no longer be listed on the forums main page. We're going to address that in a different way and those changes will come later.
5. We’ll also be offering some cool new shopping options as we head into the holidays. Stay tuned!
*Some of you will be in the test group; some will not.
Can I suggest that the multiple stickied threads in the travel forum be cleaned up, worded in a more concise and common-template way, and listed with the most general and important ones to read at the top? Right now it's a bit helter-skelter and my eyes glaze over it.
I'd suggest:
"please read before posting" to be first,
"new request thread approach in travel" to be second
--- though actually isn't "new request thread approach in travel" just an evolution of what the "please read before posting" is supposed to be about? can they be combined now? ----
then the 3 FAQs should appear together in the list (one then the other then the other, alphabetically perhaps)
---- wouldn't "updated rental car thread" be combinable with the rental car FAQ? are they that different, now? ---
the 2 las vegas threads should appear together in the list (one, then the other)
and I'd also suggest adding this current thread as a new stickied thread, at the very top of the page, with a more granular explanation than is in the OP at present, explaining where exactly people should post things, now that you want some things to be in "hot deals" and some things to be in "travel discussion".

sechs said: Not really a heads-up about future changes as much as notice of something that you already did....Well, the name changes happened a little quicker than I expected (soon after my post). The other changes are yet to be tested.
