I plan on attending Dragon*Con which is always held over Labor Day weekend and want to find an early deal as the main hotels fill up quickly. When: Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 - Monday, September 6th, 2010 (4 nights) Where: Atlanta, GA (Downtown) Who: At least two people, however being so far off it's difficult to tell whether it will turn into a group thing or not. Budget: Best bang for the buck
I have numerous relatives in the Atlanta area, however it was a real pain this year trying to get back and forth. The MARTA does not run all night so if you miss the last train at 1am you have to pay for a cab. I ended up driving but then you have to deal with parking. I'd much rather stay in one of the convention hotels (hilton, Mariott, Hyatt or Sheraton) or one within easy walking distance. I'd be fine with staying somewhere else (ie. with a relative) on Thursday night if it helps.
FYI, I live in Nashville so I will be driving as it's only a few hours away.
I will help with Hyatt but it will involve some work on your part. Do a search of Hyatt in the forum...there is a thread I started about Hyatt stay certificates. Go there and at different hotels there are different levels of certificates for stays that you pre-purchase and use. I have no idea what is available in Atlanta...that will be your work.
I posted there I found the Indy Hyatt for the lowest level certificate of $99 during mini-marathon for Indy 500. It was a huge savings. I plan on doing the same thing again this next year.
Please update with what you found...not too hard to find so the directions will help.
