Hi,

I'm going to Vegas on the 18th for a night and I'm trying to decide between MGM Grand or Rio All Suites. Rio rooms are bigger and less expensive but off strip and hear they are getting a little old. MGM Grand is on the strip and the rooms have been reported to be newer/nicer but MGM is more expensive.

Which one do you feel is better? The difference between them is 15 dollars.

Thanks!

Stay on the Strip, esp. for just one night. If you've only got one night, chances are you're not going to be in the room much, and the MGM location will enable you to explore on the Strip without taking taxi's to/from the hotel.

BTW, the Las Vegas forum over at tripadvisor.com is much better for this kind of "what hotel should I pick" question.....

I wouldn't stay at either hotel.

How much $ difference are you looking at? Unless it's really substantial, I'd opt for MGM. Stayed there in July for a week. The pool area is great, better location, lots of restaurant options, and the rooms are recently renovated. Rio's casino was dead and looking a bit run down.
