Expedia is showing Las Vegas
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino 11/22 to 11/27 ---- 41.00 per night plus taxes and fees
it appears that you must book 5 nights to get this rate

All of them? Which one, there are a ton.

vegas

No one in their right mind should EVER go to the Hard Rock in Vegas.

Went there to see Underworld, got the $50/night deal. Forgot coupon code.

1. $150/night deposit up front. So if you are staying three nights, get ready to cough up $450 before you can even see your room.
2. Cannot use house carts to take luggage up to room, must have bellboy do it and expect to tip. Otherwise you're huffing it all yourself without a cart.
3. Don't use the fridge to cool any soft drinks or food you may buy. They will charge you the full minibar fee for just opening it.
4. Don't expect to be able to get a white russian at the pool, unless, and this is a direct quote: "you bring your own milk." Went inside to get a white russian from another bar, tried to take it out to the pool, but they wouldn't let me because it was in a glass. Asked if I could run over to the bar to dump it into a plastic cup, he would not let me out, said I would have to "talk to somebody else", but did not specifiy who. Went back to the bar inside, had the bartender put it into a plastic cup for me, and asked him to top it off so I wouldn't have to make another trip, and poured a double, charging me another $15.
5. Bathroom tub/shower had clogged drain, and even after about 45 minutes, had to leave to get a roto-rooter and never came back.
6. If you need to print anything out, do it before you leave for Vegas. The hotel DOES NOT have a business center or even a single printer available to guests. I had to email the concierge and have him print out my tickets after having to give him my password for my ticketmaster account.
7. Went to the 24-hour restaurant. Asked plainly if the potato skins had six to an order, and the server said yes. Got to table, there were only five. No apology or asking if there was anything they could do, such as make an extra one. Pathetic server and service.
8. The combo deal we had included 20% off spa for the three days we were there, as well as 50% off the pool restaurant for three days too. They only let us use each deal only ONE day. Said if I had questions to call the internet booking manager, and gave me her number. Called and left message, never received a call back.
9. As I tried to use the 50% off food, they told me that the coupon had expired. After I asked for a manager, they told me that they would honor it, but that they were doing me a huge favor by taking it.
10. Be careful what you use in the room. Literally everything has a price on it - water, shampoo and conditioner ($34 if to memory serves), snacks.
11. Forget about even trying to do the $20 deal here.
12. Did not receive a single apology for any of the service problems.
13. They advertise everywhere that they have swim-up blackjack, but was closed every day we were there.
14. Had to run up to the bar at the pool everytime I wanted something, I never had a server check up on me for the three days we were there, and I went down to the pool every day.
15. It took us an hour and a half to check out - that was after waiting 30 minutes to get to the counter.
16. Casino is pathetic, just a small circle off the main entrance with about 30 tables and slots.
17. Pool and 24-hour restaurants had bland bar food at best.

That's all I can remember for now, but sure I'm missing something.

Only good thing is that we were up on the 9th floor, and the Otis elevator express buypass trick works there.

Yeah, yeah, but how was the eye candy?

geeez hasaanchop what did you do try to pickup the managers wife and daughter with him standing there lol

Agreed that the place is a dump, and stay away.

Oh yeah, if you get enticed by the "free slot play" deal, forget it. It's only for special machines that have nearly zero chance of winning anything.

Thanks hasaanchop for such a detailed review. I wish everyone would share their thoughts on deals. I for one will never stay at the Hard Rock after reading what you had to say. Times are hard and companies should be going above and beyond just to stay in business. I know quite a bit about the hospitality industry and the things you mention are unforgivable. I hope someone with a stake in the Hard Rock reads what you posted and takes action. Because if I owned that hotel and read a post like yours I'd probably pass out.

I went to Mr. Lucky's last week during my labor day vacation. (Stayed at Ballys'). Rehab pool and bar has about a 10 to 1 guy to girl ratio. The girls there are not that good looking either. There are a few 10s here and there, but the majority of them are nothing to brag about.

I didn't go to the party but you have to walk past the "wait line" to get into Mr. Lucky's. Not really any eye candy. There is plenty more at the Wynn and Ventian.

Wow...Sorry you had such a bad time...did you speak with a manager about it yet?
anyhow...you do mention somethings that are untrue...and i feel the need to point them out..
1. Yep..no way to get around the deposit...put it on a CC and it will be refunded when you check out..
2. 5 bucks goes a long way...the walk to the rooms isn't that bad unless you stay in the new tower...it is like this at any "upscale" hotel..you must stay at the Holiday Inn express alot?
3. why are you playing with a minibar? all the rooms have 2 sinks..get some ice and you now have a cooler...(well sink with ice in it)
4. You are a fool to spend 15 bucks a drink in Vegas...(Gamble at the nickle slots=free drinks!) I do agree the guy at the entrance should have given you a plastic cup...its a safety thing..nobody likes to step on glass
5. YOU SHOULD OF CALLED A MANAGER...PERFECT REASON TO GET SOMETHING FOR YOUR TROUBLES!
6. The VIP check-in room would of done it with no problem...you dont have to be a VIP to go in there...
7. Why are you eating anything but the 7.77 special at luckys? In the future if you are unhappy about anything in a restaurant ask for the manager...be nice...and 90% of the time they will take care of you...if they dont..charge it to your room then go bitch at the front desk..
8. Never call...in the future go to the front desk and ask to speak with a manager...
9. I think you need to write a letter to the GM...ask for a return visit...
10. The water always costs money...but the shampoo and cond. are free...
11. the 20 deal works just fine...actually better than most in vegas...look at the percentage..
12. write a letter to the GM..
13. Did you stay on an non peak day? Sounds like it...its usually open fri-mon...

It does indeed sound like you had a bad stay...let them make it up to you..they are in the business to take care of their guests...I stay there a couple times a year and never had a problem..and if at anytime i needed anything it was a phone call/ask the closest person away. The new rooms kick ass and are well worth the 10/night...

Been around this industry for years...most of the time speaking with a manager will solve any challenge you may have.

The girl to guy ratio is not that bad..(if you have game) Mondays have alot better ratio with a very similar atmosphere..(called relax mondays i think)

btw...everyone should check out dealbase.com. It has the best source of vegas hotel deals. (2 nights for 99 at the rock)

Yeah, sounds like a good deal if it doesn't have any other hidden fees. By the way, Thanks for posting this.

Yes, I want to thank you also because I was considering this...until I read your post.
Thanks again

Agreed...though the review was very comprehensive....it sounded as if it was this gentleman's first trip to Vegas. Hard Rock has always been good to me as well, and you learn very quickly that management resolves many problems especially in this economy.

I stayed at the hard rock in Orlando and it was the best hotel i ever stayed at "attitude wise". Every staff member was great. A few years later I stayed at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fl and it was a complete 180. Just horrible; definitely THE worst in that price range. Big YMMV.
