I dont have a car and as a result i have NO insurance. I plan on renting a car for the next 30 days or so. I dont want to buy the insurance that the rental car company offers as that will add 300 dollars to my bill. I heard about NAMED OPERATOR/NON OWNER insurance most companies dont seem to offer it. Progressive does but progressive told me that it wont work for 30 days with the same car because i have "regular access" to the car.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Most credit cards include rental car insurance. Call your credit card company too find out and what coverage it offers and for how long.

use a CC with primary coverage included when you charge the rental.

the credit card only covers damage to the rental car. I am looking for liability. IE the damage i do to the other guy if i am in an accident.

Take GM up on its 60 day satisfaction guarantee

Buy GM car. Get insurance. Get insurance on low payment/monthly payment.

Get satisfaction guarantee. Cancel insurance and get rest of premium back.

Enjoy courtesy of goverment owned car company.

Checkout AMEX's policies.

Use an AMEX to reserve the card and add their car rental insurance option. Costs $19.95 for the duration of the rental.
