Mods I am not sure if this should be in deal discussion or here, but please move if need be. I was searching for airfare from Boston to Fort Lauderdale and found the lowest cost option at www.cheapoair.com, but when I clicked to book the total price for four tickets were $169.60 higher then what it should have been after a $40 discount was deducted. Watch out! Digging deeper CheapOair shows two prices in their search result screen, one for the cost of the ticket and the other for cost with their fees but does NOT including other taxes and fees. This $24 fee per ticket can easily be missed. Most other airfare search engines charge no fees and gives you a total with all taxes and fees. First screen shot below shows the search result for $256 per person or $280 total (school vacation week is EXPENSIVE to fly), while the second screen shot shows the total of $1289.60. The third shows CheapOair fees. I ended up booking these very flights using using the FatWallet Cash Back option using jetblue.com for that leg and then Expedia.com for the Airtran portion as Airtran does not take part in CashBack to save $96 + FatWallet Cash Back. On the plus side this combination of flights didn't come up on kayka, Orbitz, farecast or Expedia. |
