Checked kayak, HotwireExpedia etc. Want to stay a week in Manhattan, room with 2 BEDS.
The people traveling are relatives of a Marriot employee so they made a a cancelable reservation at Marriot Marquis Times Square for $200/night for a room with 2 beds. This was for Nov 3-10
There are a few better deals (but not by much - like $170/180 a night) at lower-rated hotels from the travel website searches. Anyone know of any great/better deals for a nice hotel with 2 beds in Manhattan in November 3-10?? Under $100/night would be awesome but I realize it may be impossible.
Prefer a reservation that is cancelable until very close to departure date It would also be nice if full prepayment is not required, just a credit card "on file" is preferred.
Thanks in advance!

Checked various dates in Nov and Everything in Manhattan is coming in $200+ for 2 beds at properties like Holiday Inn Express, which probably isnt nicer than the Marriott Marquis Times Square reservation already in place.
your rate at $200 is great. not getting much better than that.
Most sites with lower rates, don't allow you to choose room type and you could end up with 1 bed.
Check with your employer to see if they have negotiated rates.. You might find something. But your rate $200 is great. Mine is a fortune 10 company and your $200 rate is $100 less than any I can find with my work

Unless your friend can't afford $200/night you are not likely to get a better deal than that. I stay in NYC several times a year and have stayed at that Marriott, which is very nice. Otherwise you would be looking at motels in the outer boroughs and I doubt you would find one for $100/night. I'm paying $125/night near LGA for Halloween weekend - and that rate has jumped since I booked a couple of months ago.
I am going next week and just went through looking for a hotel.
The only rate which works for Doubles with IHC in NYC is the Holiday Inn Express. Others (like the Crowne) are not participating. Its was like $215 a night pre-tax for an oct stay.
Most rates jump $70-100 night from OCT - DEC in NYC
Thanks all, we have narrowed the dates down to Nov 3-10 and purchased flights, so those are the days.
We have our Marriot Marquis TImes Square location locked in, unless someone posts a better deal. The rate for this Times Square view room is $449 on the major travel engines. We are paying $200/night with employee code (requires paper certificate from employee and manager)

I've stayed there - the Times Square view rooms are amazing.

Thanks for sharing.I wish I could share the paper certificate...I cant.
You can see the employee rates online though, by using promo code MMP on the Marriott.com site
I would not recommend trying to reserve a room at this rate if you do not have the paper certificate and are not legitimately a family member of a Marriott employee.
