I'm looking to travel from Vancouver (or Seattle) to Maui in December. My dates are flexible, so long as my departure date is after Christmas. Duration isn't important, so long as I'm back on or before January 4th.
It will be for one person.
So far in my searches most airfare is around 1000-1250, however on Travelocity I've found airfare from 750 (because I can use the +/- 3 days tools which lets Travelocity pick the cheapest dates for me). However they are not on my ideal dates which would be Dec 26th-January 2nd or 3rd.
I've searched the usual suspects (mobissimo, etc.) but have not turned up anything great.

Flights to Hawaii went up when Aloha, ATA went BT in 2007, and the airlines have done a pretty good job limiting the number of flights to keep them full, and fares up, and will be pricey during such peak travel periods.
American and United have dropped fares to OGG to less than $250 each way, but travel must be completed by Dec 17.
That said, Pleasant Holidays 800-742-9244 books seats to OGG on United from LAX and I believe SFO, and run off peak fly-drive deals for as little as $299. You might want to call and see if they have something for you; might be necessary to find your own flights to LAX / SFO, but I am not optimistic.
Hawaiian Airlines has a nice feature that shows prices for a month's worth of flights - provides a good idea of preferred dates. From Seattle, it shows a $224 outbound fare on 12/31, $226 on 12/29, and $234 on 12/30. The issue is your return flights - NONE are available on Jan 2, 3, Jan 1 is currently $867, and $508 on Jan 4. They drop quickly to $200 and less the following week, as demand drops.
Try Hawaiian Airline, its calendar view of the price is great. I just booked a round trip from a west coast city to Maui around christmas with less than $350.
