I have never traveled to Hong Kong so I am not sure what I should expecting as far as cost for the trip. What I have found so far is that the prices for a non-stop flight in coach ranges from $900 -$1700 depending on the airline chosen. Thats actually another area of uncertainty for me, which airline to fly. I have heard from some friends and colleagues that american airlines are not so great for international flights. So for flights to Hong Kong I have heard many suggestions for Cathay Pacific. I am hearing that the service is better the inflight food is better and you are all around taken care of better. Is this true and are there any other airlines worth flying on? I hear package deals of flight and hotel can garner better deals, and this seems to be true with my search, but some of the package deal prices seem too low sometimes and I really don't know which ones I can trust. Does anyone know of some trust worthy sites or travel agencies with excellent prices?
Cathay Pacific is the norm and used to be the best... it has slide a little but still good. Singapore airline is the BEST! I assume you are from SF... stop by some of the chinese travel agencies, they usually have better deals than internet... well, at least that's the case in LA...
I'm actually looking for around the same dates and also SFO-HKG. I think the best bet is still to try the Chinese agents by phone or better in-person, in any major city.
