As you all probably know you get quotes from Priceline for what seem like great deals, but you don't actually know which hotel it is until you accept. Is there a way to find out which hotel it is before accepting the deal?

No, there is no way to find out until you actually win. You can head over to biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com to see the "likely-hotel lists" and see what other travelers are getting.

Betterbidding has a friendlier staff, and can answer your questions without malice.

Another, usually reliable, method to find out which Hotwire hotel is being offered is to check out the package deals on Hotwire (if the city you are searching is one of the ones included in the packages). Do a dummy booking for flight and hotel. Compare the star ratings, AND all the amenities offered in the "package" hotels with those listed for the "hotels only" offerings. If there are many (more than 6)amenities, you will need to click through on the "hotels only" to get the complete list for an accurate comparison.

I wouldn't label most of these people staff. They're forum users (i.e. just other people) and treating them as such may yield friendlier responses.

You could try reading the FAQ for this forum, you might be suprised by the wealth of info.

Betterbidding is hands down the best matching site you can use for Priceline. Additionally, they give me tips on what could and would be a good bid, where I can get it right ... 90+% of the time
