Hi folks, Can some one point me to a good deal or flight for a trip to San Diego from San Jose on Nov 8th (evening) and return on Nov 11 (noon or later). I looked in kayak, Orbitz and few more sites but prices are way too high. Anyway to get a good deal.
I'm getting price in the range of > $190. Even SW is coming around $180.
AA pulled out of the market in late Aug, leaving SWA as the only carrier flying nonstops on the route, who are obviously taking full advantage of the situation.
Lower cost options are at other airports; Virgin America competes with SWA between SFO and SAN, so check both; OAK is another option, but believe that too is only SWA. Depending on your destination in San Diego, you might also try SNA (Orange County) - particularly for Carlsbad / Oceanside area (Legoland), as AA and SWA compete from SJC, Virgin and SWA from SFO.

SWA 72 hour sale is for travel Dec. 2 - Dec. 16, 2009 and Jan. 5 - Feb. 10, 2010, and the OP is leaving on a Sunday.

Right. I already checked SW sale but dates are not matching up for me. Also looked at Virgin America fares from SFO. No good and expensive too. SW price increased today by $20.
Should I just book SW with what ever I'm getting now or wait till the last minute with SW to see if they give any last min deal? Also, using craigslist to have someone book it for me at a cheaper price - is it a good option? Anyone tried it?
JUST remembered that Alligant flies from Monterey to San Diego. They have a 3 pm departure on Nov 8 for $18.88 pp (plus taxes), and a 5 pm return for the same price on Nov 12. If you must return on the 11th, and someone can help you with transportation in No Ca, you might be able to fly out of MRY and return to SJC or SFO.
