Hello, I am planning to pop the big question during xmas in Phuket, Anyone have any suggestions on any deals/ideas to propose, most romantic spots... etc.. in Phuket?

Hahahaha...do it but only because you want to tell people what it is about later.
My wife and I went to Bangkok and Phuket for our honeymoon last year and it was amazing. My recommendation is to stay at the Moovenpick in Karon Beach. Get the plunge-pool suite because it is amazing and you will love the hotel, pool, and the incredible breakfast. The beach is never really busy and there is a ton of things to do right around you. DO NOT stay in Patong. Way too much happening and it will get really annoying.
As for a place to propose, we went on an elephant ride during our trip and there was a restaurant that he took us to before getting to the animals. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name right now but it is about a 15 drive from Karon and is on the side of the mountain with the deck hanging way out giving you an amazing view of the mountains and the sea. I will try to find out the name of the guy who runs the elephant trek (he is American) and you can contact him for info on the restaurant.
If you can get away from Phuket, I'd highly recommend going to Koh Samui. Much less touristy, and absolutely beautiful.
From there you could even take a boat out to the Angthong Marine Park (about a 70-80 minute boat ride out into the Gulf of Thailand). That would be a pretty outstanding place to propose if you ask me.

I have to agree that Koh Samui is much better than Phuket. I spent 3 weeks in Thailand for my honeymoon and Koh Samui had the best beaches by far. Phuket was alright, but it is very dirty and much busier. I would go to Chang Mai too if you have time.

Koh Samui, really? I thought that Samui Island is as bad as Phuket. How do I know? Because I'm Thai!!!!!!
If you have not booked anything in Phuket and want to go somewhere that is not as "touristy," I'd suggest to go somewhere else like anywhere from this site: http://www.traveleradvisor.net/unseenthailand/
However, since this is the place where there are not a lot of Tourists heard of, there will definitely be a language barrier and the communication between local and you may be a little bit more difficult than going to Koh Samui or Phuket.
Patong market is definitely NOT a place to be because the price there is expensive than normal. Local Thai tourists don't even like visit there because they mainly attract tourists from overseas.
