I'm new to posting, and I posted a great deal (or what I think is a totally awesome deal), but I didnt read the tips in this thread first. I posted it late at night and it got no attention, should I repost? How does a post get highlighted as a good deal?

If so, there's no need to post it again. Whether the deal is highlighted as a good deal depends on the traction it gets in the community. As the community votes deals green, the get more attention. As members reply, it bumps the deal to the top of the page (assuming filters are set to read most recent activity).
I think I saw compilation of Staples deals (not coupons, more like wiki on how to maximize your Staples deal). I use the searches and can't find the topic. Anyone knows what I'm talking about and have the link to the topic? If so I really appreciate if you can share that link (PM me or reply here since this is a question thread?)
There are a variety of reasons that a message would require approval if that is what you mean. Some topics require approval before a post can appear because the thread may be about a contentious subject or, for some forums, we might want to make sure a post is in the right place before we allow it go live. Another reason is that an automated helper catches a variety of things it wants us to double check before going live.

Is there a way to add words to appear under your avatar like I have seen under some peoples names? How do you do a animated avatar? How can I change my user name? TIA!
Good questions. The words under your avatar (custom titles) are usually either earned by appearing on the Leaderboard or they are given out by a mod for doing something special. The only animated avatar we have is the flag. And if you want to change your username, you will have to contact the mods via support ticket and request it. I hope that covers everything.
